Activities at Chacombe Park Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Morgan Dowie

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Morgan and I joined the Chacombe Park life enrichment team in January 2025. I love getting to know our residents, and I'm extremely passionate about their continued wellbeing and enjoy providing tailored activities that stimulate happiness, and continued fulfilment.

Prior to joining Chacombe Park, I worked as a Senior Carer, and hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care. Outside of work, I’m a wife and mother to our beautiful little girl. Originally from Birmingham our little family has now settled in Banbury. Living life to the full is my motto, and I wish to instil this in all our residents, whatever your ability there is something new to learn or try. Life is for enriching and enjoyment.

I look forward to getting to know you and your loved ones. We are always open to new ideas, if you'd like to contact me please call the home on 01295 712001 or email me direct on: Chacombe.Activities@barchester.com - New entertainers always welcome.

Easter Holiday Egg Hunt

Easter arrived early at Chacombe Park Care Home today.

In a heartwarming celebration of easter and community spirit the children of Chacombe CEVA Primary Academy were warmly welcomed by the residents before heading out into the care home's beautiful gardens where colourful easter eggs were hidden among the flowers and grass.

The afternoon was filled with excitement as the young pupils teamed up with residents to search for the hidden eggs.

Our resident Wendy said "It’s wonderful having the children here, they're fabulous" As the children left with their baskets full, they left behind happy faces and warm hearts. The residents can't wait to welcome them back!

Today's session included a special interactive music class courtesy of Philippa from Rhythm Time Banbury, Buckingham and The Cotswolds who will be returning on the first Wednesday of each month.

These sessions offer a welcoming environment where parents and their young children can engage in music, games and various multi-sensory activities alongside the care home residents.

The Chacombe Park play group is FREE of charge and open to all parents, guardians and carers with babies and small children from the local community.

Refreshments and healthy snacks are provided throughout the sessions to keep us all happy and hydrated.

Our next session will be on 7th May 10am-11:30am and we can't wait to see you all again! Hopefully the lovely weather will hold and your little ones can ventue outside for fun in our beautiful gardens.

Mothering Sunday Celebrations

We celebrated Mother's Day with an elegant afternoon tea party. The special event brought together residents and their loved ones to enjoy a selection of delectable treats crafted by the home's skilled culinary and hospitality team.

This very special day began with a trip to the Church of St Peter and St Paul in Chacombe village for a service celebrating Lent as we get closer to Easter. Then back at the home it was a perfect day to take a walk around the grounds and pick some of our numerous spring blooms for flower arranging.

The care home was transformed for the occasion with fresh floral arrangements and cheerful bunting, creating a warm environment where everyone could celebrate and honour mothers past and present.

"It was truly a wonderful day," said General Manager Shaju Paul. "Seeing our residents enjoying quality time with their families over a delicious afternoon tea prepared by our talented chefs was incredibly heart-warming. These moments of connection are what make our community so special."
