Activities at Cepen Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Anita Williams
Hello. my name is Anita, I have worked at Cepen Lodge for 5 years, I started as a Senior Care Assistant and now I am the Activities Coordinator which I really enjoy, I love the interaction with our residents and making their days enjoyable. I am always thinking of new activities and events, and ways to engage with our local community for our residents benefit. Cepen Lodge is a great team that I am proud to be a part of.

Life at Cepen Lodge Care Home

Chippenham Fire Services Visit
We had some special visitors recently at Cepen Lodge
We were excited to welcome Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service and the crew members from Chippenham Fire Station to our home of course it was complete with their truck in tow.
We had a very informative chat from watch manager Jack who talked about all the ways we can make sure we stay safe.
We even got invited to take a tour of the fire station in the near future.

Malmesbury Garden Centre Visit
At Cepen Lodge we are surrounded by beautiful garden centres and coffee shops.
So we decided to hop into the mini bus, and take a trip to the lovely Malmesbury Garden Centre. It was such a treat to walk around and look at all the different plants and flowers in full summer bloom.
Of course we couldn't visit without a pit stop at the Cafe. Coffee and cake is always a must on our trips out.
Regular outings are a key part of enriching the lives of our residents at Cepen Lodge.

Giving back to our community
The team at Cepen Lodge saw pleas for food donations in our local food banks, whose shelves were bare.
They needed support more than ever for families during the summer holidays. So Cepen Lodge have been collecting food for our local food bank Cafe Spero , who kindly came to collect our donations.
Our hamper in reception was filled to the brim with thanks to our local community. Our hamper is still in reception if anyone would like to donate to the local food bank and we will arrange to deliver these, anything you can spare is much appreciated to support our local community

John Coles Park Visit
We made the most of the glorious weather recently and hopped into the mini bus to visit one of local parks.
We are very lucky to live near the beautiful John Coles Park.
As the weather was so nice we decided to stop for a delicious ice cream.
it was lovely sitting on the benches watching the world go by, or more accurately lots of doggies.
Our residents are already making plans to pop down to see the brass bands playing in the bandstand.

Whitehall Garden Centre
We had a brilliant trip out on our mini bus recently with our residents and family members and visited the beautiful Whitehall Garden Centre.
We admired the floral displays and smelled the beautiful roses while reminiscing about plants we remember growing in our gardens.
After our walk round we all enjoyed the picnic our talented chef had made for us with a nice cup of tea.
Special thanks to our volunteer Michelle Hanson for driving the mini bus!

Cepen Lodge Sports Day!
GET BARCHESTER MOVING! What a fantastic afternoon we have had with students from Hardenhuish School with our very own Sports Day! This week is all about moving as we fundraise for The Barchester Charity Foundation, and today we went head to head to compete against the students in egg & spoon, space hopper, relay, three legged and hula hoop races as well as a BBQ and ice creams all round! We all had so much fun and the residents loved interacting with the students, who were brilliant at chatting and listening to stories from the past. Thankyou to all those who have donated and sponsored us.
