Activities at Ashcombe House Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

I’m a fun, loud and outgoing individual who loves organising fun activities for residents at Ashcombe House (and staff, if possible). I’m very creative and keep the residents very active, both mentally and physically In my spare time, I love doing a lot of fundraising, which usually ends up with me sliding in mud.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Ashcombe House Care Home
Abracadabra
Mr Magic hat treated residents and staff to an afternoon of trickery and slight of hand. Residents were involved in the magic but Thankfully no one was sawn in half!
Pancake Day
Chef Symon stole the show for his pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, residents enjoyed a variety of toppings, fresh fruits, cream, chocolate, golden syrup to name just a few. It was the traditional lemon & Sugar coming out on top as the favourite!
Love is in the Air!
Residents enjoyed spreading the love for valentine’s day, with a themed lunch and live singing performance from Terry James.
Terry serenaded the ladies and even stole a cheeky kiss from one of them.
Art Therapy
Art sessions are really beneficial for wellbeing, they provide a calm and relaxing environment and enable the resident to express themselves. Painting is good for hand dexterity and our residents always love to show off their artwork around the home.
Bible Group
Volunteers from 'Open the Book' attend the home every Thursday morning to deliver an interactive story from the Bible. Residents and staff are involved in telling the story and the session finishes with saying prayers.
Elvis is in the Building!
Residents celebrated what would have been the King of Rock ad rolls 88th birthday with Elvis Tribute Tony Allgood. Tony donned his Blue Suede shoes and sequined boiler suit and performed dance moves the king himself would have been proud of. All of the residents had a wonderful time and can't wait to welcome Tony back again soon!
