Activities at Woodland View
Woodland View is passionately committed to providing residents with a varied choice of entertainment, social, health and well being, craft and relaxation based activities.
Activities will all be meaningful and based on the likes of residents and will continue to evolve depending on our residents. The activities provided will also include involvement from other local community based organisations and are open to all residents, family and friends of residents. Our activities will be facilitated by staff from all departments as well as invited guests. Families are also enthusiastically encouraged to play a part in activities when possible.
There will always be at least one person at every activity who has been DBS checked to ensure the safeguarding of our residents. The dignity of our residents and our respect for them is at the centre of everything we do, each and every day.
We are always reviewing and changing our schedule of activities to be a centre of excellence and actively invite feedback and suggestions for new and meaningful activities and ideas.
Petra Hardman
Hi my name is Petra and I'm the Activities Coordinator here at Woodland View. I love seeing the difference that activities can make to each individual, and finding out what interests they have and ensure I incorporate that into our activities here.
I love music and drama coming from a musical background as a singer all over the country, music is important to me and I feel it makes such a difference to everyone, it evokes memories, and creates happiness. I also love to boost residents self esteem by creating pampering sessions and having one to one time to relax and reminisce.

Active Broadway with Annie
Residents took part in a new activity named "Active Broadway with Annie" Annie is from a Westend Background, and a qualified drama teacher, who has been showing residents how to stay active with Broadway/Westend music, and lots of props! This new fortnightly activity is already a firm favourite!
A Trip to the Garden Centre
Some of our residents took a mini-bus trip to a local Garden Centre to look at the Christmas Display, called "Step back in time" which was a nostalgic journey of Christmas through the years, the trip was finished with a huge fruit scone and cup of tea!
Baking Christmas Cakes
Christmas preparation is under way here at Woodland View! Our residents joined our Head Chef and Activities Team in preparing Christmas Cakes for all our communities. They are now all baked and ready to be decorated, residents and staff alike are excited about up-coming cake decorating competition!
A Visit from Nala
Residents at Woodland View enjoyed their regular visit from Nala, the therapy dog. Nala visits all communities and is a favourite sight within the home, with lots of residents reminiscing of dogs they have owned over the years, and the joy they have brought them.
Paying our respects
Here at Woodland View all residents and staff commentated the life of Queen Elizabeth the second, by watching the coverage of the processions and reminiscing with pictures, and our condolence book. Some residents remembered the coronation, and shared memories of how the day was such a happy occasion.
Therapy Dogs
We had a well received visit from therapy dogs Ben and Simba the Chihuahuas, who visited residents in their rooms and communal areas, they loved having laps to sit on, and there was smiles all round from residents.
