Most days, you will find our Activities Coordinators doing a range of different activities with residents, whether that be in a group setting or on a one-to-one basis. It is important that our activities team are passionate about the social events that we provide, and are dedicated to delivering an activities programme that reflect the interests and capabilities of those we support, so that life at Wilsmere House is full of fun.

Life at Wilsmere House Care Home
Divisional GM of the Year
Congratulations to Lili Cocue, who has been named as a Divisional Winner in the 2020 Barchester Care Awards. Lili is a finalist in the General Manager of the Year category, and has been invited to attend a virtual awards ceremony on 8th October, where she will find out if she has won overall.
Smiles All Round
Wilsmere House had a blast celebrating Friendship Day on 30th July by talking to residents about what friendship means to them, creating friendship cards to send to the local community and enjoying a special dinner prepared by the Head Chef. There were smiles all round as staff also shared the importance of friends and how they can enrich your life.
The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed in 2011 by the UN General Assembly with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.
World Chocolate Day
Residents at Wilsmere House revelled in all things sweet on World Chocolate Day with a range of chocolatey activities on Tuesday 7th July.
Staff helped residents make hot chocolate, chocolate truffles and held a competition where the winner won an exquisite box of the finest local chocolates.
Cream Tea Day
Wilsmere House brewed up a storm for National Cream Tea day on the 26th June. Finally putting an end to the controversial debate of cream before jam for the Cornish tradition or jam before cream as part of the Devonshire tradition, Wilsmere House enjoyed homemade scones both ways with a 'fes-tea-val' of herbal and classic teas.
A Royal Celebration
On Saturday June 13th, the Queen will celebrate her second, and official birthday. But there was an extra incentive to join in the festivities, as residents were asked to design a birthday cake in honour of Her Majesty’s big day.
Carers Week Celebration at Wilsmere House
We had a great time celebrating Carers Week here at Wilsmere House with all staff and residents wanting to show their appreciation for the incredible job that all carers do. On one day during the week our hospitality team put on a wonderful spread of food for residents and carers.
