Activities at Wilsmere House Care Home

Most days, you will find our Activities Coordinators doing a range of different activities with residents, whether that be in a group setting or on a one-to-one basis. It is important that our activities team are passionate about the social events that we provide, and are dedicated to delivering an activities programme that reflect the interests and capabilities of those we support, so that life at Wilsmere House is full of fun.

Life at Wilsmere House Care Home

,

D-Day

Today we honoured the bravery and sacrifice of those involved in the D-Day landings. Our care home held a special commemoration event to remember this pivotal moment in history.

Residents shared their memories and stories, and we prepared a presentation that brought the events of 6th June 1944 to life.

We also created a tribute display featuring photos, articles, and memorabilia to pay our respects to the heroes of D-Day.

Race Night

All the thrills of a day at the races...at home! We spent an afternoon enjoying picking a horse, placing a bet and watching the race. It was a great way to spend our afternoon. We also enjoyed a cold beer and comparing our winnings. This is the 1st of many race days to come.

Music session with Mark

Listening to Mark playing his saxophone. We enjoyed seeing the emotions that music brings to each individual on the faces of our residents . Jazz, classical, and a bit of Elvis Presley to name a few were played yesterday afternoon.

Flower Arranging

Residents embrace flower power for an afternoon of flower arranging.

Our residents chatted as they showed their artistic flair creating their arrangements which are now proudly displayed throughout the home and in some of their rooms– the home is now filled with the lovely aroma of fresh flowers.

Cheese and wine

What a lovely afternoon we had on this sunny Tuesday. We had the talented tenor Harry Kersley - Classical Tenor  share his incredible voice with us over Cheese and Wine. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed his performance! Thank you Harry, for bringing so much joy to our residents.

Birthday Celebration

A very Happy Birthday to our dear Resident Garry.

Garry started his day with a visit to the Local Fire Brigade where he met with some of his old colleagues.

We then had a Birthday celebration at Wilsmere with family friends and staff members.

Happy Birthday Garry from all of us at Wilsmere House!
