Activities at Wilsmere House
Most days, you will find our Activities Coordinators doing a range of different activities with residents, whether that be in a group setting or on a one-to-one basis. It is important that our activities team are passionate about the social events that we provide, and are dedicated to delivering an activities programme that reflect the interests and capabilities of those we support, so that life at Wilsmere House is full of fun.
Life at Wilsmere House Care Centre
To celebrate International Housekeepers Week, we revived some of our childhood memories. By helping cleaning our home, we remembered how it feels to be a child again to enjoy the time together doing the same activity.
Thank you our housekeepers for maintaining our home!
International Physiotherapy Day
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, work has been more challenging and stressful. Some of us are spending the majority of our day at work, so when do we get time to look after ourselves if it is not today?
Exercising with colleagues and residents helped to boost the mood, reduce stress and keep us fit ourselves and reminded us how important physiotherapy is, both physically and mentally.
National Fish & Chip Day
The Head Chef at Wilsmere House prepared traditional fish and chip lunch to celebrate the occasion.
Divisional GM of the Year
Congratulations to Lili Cocue, who has been named as a Divisional Winner in the 2020 Barchester Care Awards. Lili is a finalist in the General Manager of the Year category, and has been invited to attend a virtual awards ceremony on 8th October, where she will find out if she has won overall.
Smiles All Round
Wilsmere House had a blast celebrating Friendship Day on 30th July by talking to residents about what friendship means to them, creating friendship cards to send to the local community and enjoying a special dinner prepared by the Head Chef. There were smiles all round as staff also shared the importance of friends and how they can enrich your life.
The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed in 2011 by the UN General Assembly with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.
World Chocolate Day
Residents at Wilsmere House revelled in all things sweet on World Chocolate Day with a range of chocolatey activities on Tuesday 7th July.
Staff helped residents make hot chocolate, chocolate truffles and held a competition where the winner won an exquisite box of the finest local chocolates.
Continuing Life Enrichment
During this unprecedented time, we have a number of measures in place to ensure residents remain engaged, connected and socially active.
Every Tuesday Wilsmere house holds a Dementia cafe.
Join us in Our Memory Lane Longe for Tea, Coffee, Cakes and discussions.
Come along to our friendly and informal group and enjoy a chat over a hot drink and some lovely refreshments.
