Activities at Tandridge Heights Care Home

Our qualified and dedicated activities staff plan and implement all activities within the home. We try our best to arrange activities that reflect our residents interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can. We try to keep our residents active and happy.

Our activities include trips to garden centres, pubs, the cinema or the local theatre. We have many fun games like carpet bowls, Play Your Cards Right or armchair exercises. There are many musical events, singalongs, garden parties and tea parties for everyone to enjoy as well!

Kelly Sherwin

I started at Tandridge Heights in 2020. Previous to this, I have been working as a carer sine 2010, which has helped me to understand the needs, wants and the individuality of all of our residents.

My main responsibility is provide a varied and engaging activities schedule every day for our residents; this helps to keep them involved in social and uplifting activities. We love to have parties to celebrate birthdays, national days and special occasions.

Life at Tandridge Heights Care Home

VE Day

Residents and staff at Tandridge Heights had an amazing time celebrating VE Day. Residents shared their memories of the day WW2 ended and the celebrations that were had. We had afternoon tea with homemade scones and lemonade, followed by a sing along to the likes of Vera Lynn. Staff really got in to the spirit by dressing up and de3corating the whole home.

Residents and staff at Tandridge Heights welcomed families and friends to our Easter family fun afternoon, we had a fantastic Easter hunt for the children, delicious homemade cakes and treats made by our amazing kitchen team, music and lots of fun and games. It was so lovely to see everybody enjoying themselves and the weather was absolutely beautiful.

Ladies Day

Staff at the care home pulled out all the stops to give the residents an afternoon to remember. They rolled out the red carpet, chilled the pink fizz and served delicious canapes so that residents felt like royalty. Everyone dressed up for Ladies Day and we made our own beautiful fascinators, all the residents picked a horse for the Grand National and the whole home joined in with the celebrations.

Mother's Day

Tandridge Heights celebrated the Spring sunshine with a Mother’s Day afternoon tea, residents enjoyed Pimms and lemonade, quiche and homemade scones with clotted cream and jam. We welcomed back Nina to sing for us, we all had a lovely afternoon singing along and dancing to our favourite songs.

St Patrick's Day Celebrations

Residents and staff at Tandridge Heights had lots of fun celebrating St. Patrick’s Day by decorating the home with lots of Shamrock decorations, listening to Irish music and tasting some delicious Guinness. Our Head Chef, Jane, created a fantastic Irish spread with traditional Irish dishes such as boiled bacon, Irish stew, soda bread, colcannon and black pudding all washed down with Guinness or an Irish whiskey.
