Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home

The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.

Remembrance

The last couple of days, residents and staff at Stamford Bridge Beaumont joined the rest of the nation in Remembering those who fought in the World Wars and honour the contribution of everyone involved.

On Friday, we held a two-minute silence at the eleventh hour, on the eleventh day, of the eleventh month. As well as marking Armistice Day by wearing poppies and observing the national two minute silence, our residents took part in therapeutic activities such as making poppy displays and reading war poems.

Today, we enjoyed a special church service to honour veterans and armed forces members who have died in the line of duty.

It was a lovely day of remembrance.

Happiness is the smell of fresh flowers!

Residents enjoyed an afternoon of flower arranging using an array of beautiful fresh flowers to create their very own display.

Research has proven that there are many benefits of flower arranging for older people. As well as enabling residents to be creative and use their imagination, it also encourages use of the fingers and hands and is a great stress reliever, promoting a calm atmosphere.

We look forward to our next one!

Musical Moments

We had a fun filled morning with a visit from Jess at Musical Moments.

As usual residents thoroughly enjoyed the session. We sang, we danced and we laughed!

We always look forward to our visits and they are a very popular choice in the home.

International Stout Day

International Stout Day is celebrated on the first Thursday in November each year. Stouts, developed from porters in the 1700s, have become some of the most beloved beers in many different nations.

Our residents and keen beer fans tried some dark beers along with tasty pub snacks.

In the afternoon we got involved in a themed quiz, which was enjoyed by all.

Bewitching Tricks and Spooky Treats

We got into the spooky Halloween spirit of things by creating an autumnal display with painted pumpkins and flower arrangements around the home.

We hosted a fun-filled coffee morning with delicious Halloween inspired treats, enjoyed a special Halloween lunch and an afternoon of themed music.

Some of our residents preferred to paint and decorate pumpkins and others got involved in themed quizzes and games, and enjoyed watching a Zoo Lab live with Oomph Wellness.

We all had a spooktacular time.

Church Service

We had a great morning welcoming Reverend Simon Pritchard from Stamford Bridge Church into the home for our service. A resident from the Terrace unit, Bryan gave us a lovely reading too.
