Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
Burns Night celebrations
We had a great time yesterday celebrating Burns Night!
To honour the famous Scottish poet, we hosted a poetry and music session to learn more about the Scottish Country Dancing.
Our tables were decorated for the occasion, staff dressed up and residents got involved too!
We ended the day with Whisky and shortbread tasting which was thoroughly enjoyed.
We all had a wonderful time learning more about Robert Burns and the Scottish culture and traditions.
Virtual Sensory Storytelling Session
Our residents were treated to a special virtual sensory storytelling session.
Together with Art Historian Jon Sleigh and the Historic Royal Palaces community team, we explored several royal palaces through the theme of food, dining and celebration!
We enjoyed a fantastic taste-a-long experience from the comfort of our home, from Tudor treats to Stuart sweets.
A lovely time was had by all.
Live talk from The Royal Parks London
We enjoyed a wonderful live virtual talk about starlings, one of the UK’s most gregarious birds, hosted by Rachel Dowse from The Royal Parks London.
Rachel examined our long history with this bird and the importance of common species to our lives. Our residents had the opportunity to find out more about the great murmuration and why we need to pay special attention to these beauties before it's too late.
The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all.
"I've always helped and kept busy"
We’ve had some helpers here at Stamford Bridge Beaumont this week! We are passionate about involving our residents in the things they want to do, and used to enjoy doing.
Alongside our varied life enrichment programme this helps us to ensure we are always promoting residents health & wellbeing offering person centred stimulation.
As Author Karin Tancock, says: "Keeping active and occupied is crucial for people in care homes who risk serious health complications if they are left with nothing to do. People need activity; it is simply vital for a healthy body and mind.” - and we absolutely agree with this!
It’s the small things that can make such a difference to our residents lives.
Coffee Afternoons
Since we didn’t make it out to our local cafe No. 10 Café Bar & Bistro this week, we decided to bring the cafe to us!
Residents enjoyed lattes, hot chocolates and a selection of biscuits!
They went down a great treat and there were smiles all round
Church Service
We had a lovely morning with a virtual church service from St George's Donnington.
For many residents in our home, a church service can feel comforting and familiar as a lot of our residents used to attend church regularly.
Thank you again for a lovely service.
