Activities at Pentland View Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Marion celebrates 100th birthday
Marion celebrated a milestone birthday this month, turning 100, and had a full day of birthday festivities! She had her hair and make-up beautifully done in preparation for a birthday party with some of her nearest and dearest in the Main Lounge. With a background of music by one of her favourites, Frank Sinatra, Marion opened her presents and cards, including one very special letter from the King!
Refreshments were provided by the kitchen and everyone enjoyed a bit of her beautiful birthday cake. Marion shares her special day with fellow resident, Reena, who turned 90! Imagine having two special birthdays in one day! We will be having a joint party for them both this coming weekend!

The Kings Birthday Tea Party
Residents, guests and staff had a great time celebrating the birthday of HRH King Charles III, watching documentaries about the King’s life and finishing the day off with a tea party and toast to the King.
Our lovely chef, Jane, made her much-loved scones and even made blue cream so that they were red, white and blue! Residents and staff had great fun donning the royal capes and crowns and posing for photos. We even had a visit from the King, himself!

Trip to Puldagon Farm
Residents recently enjoyed a trip through to Wick for a delicious meal at Puldagon Farm. The ladies all thoroughly enjoyed their meals and a walk round the shop and look at the Highland cows.
Afterwards, we took a run to Tesco for a coffee in the café and then to Argos so that Margaret could shop for a watch. Margaret was delighted to be able to get out an pick one out for herself! All of the ladies thoroughly6 enjoyed themselves and can’t wait to do it again soon!

Walk through a landscape
Residents across our services had a lovely time joining Emily and Marie-Therese from the Wallace Collection, for a virtual introduction to Reubens' Rainbow Landscape.
Residents truly enjoyed the sensory walk through one of the museum’s most famous landscape paintings.
Everyone who joined had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to put their creative skills to the test by painting some landscapes of our their in the coming days!

Pumpkin Painting
To get in to the spooky spirit, residents painted pumpkins that we will use as decorations at our Halloween party. As you can see, the creative juices were4 flowing!

World Food Day
For World Food Day, residents took a culinary tour of the world, sampling foods from various countries. We had polish kielbasa, Spanish chorizo, gazpacho and pickled garlic, Indian samosas, German pretzels and wafer biscuits, Italian and British cheeses, American corn dogs, and Japanese tempura prawns. Everyone enjoys a good nibble.
