What our families say: Pentland View Care Home

"Overall very good. Individually staff are excellent (those who actually care for residents). Do not like it when certain words etc are frowned upon ie death/died etc by management. It is natural. More blue badge parking space is required. Provision for visitors is very good. Full-time physio and weekly doctors visit. It would be good if ears were checked (and syringed) by a nurse every month as wax builds up in elderly people, making them deaf. Six rails on beds for those who may fall out. Most companies get fed up with us commenting and making suggestions. We do not give top or bottom marks."

"Staff not only provide care to their residents but are supportive of families through the dementia journey. Personal centred approach evident when visiting and good rapport between staff and residents."

<p>"My relative has been a resident for the last 12 years. I cannot fault the care he receives from all members of staff. They are friendly and always happy to help. A clean and tidy home, hard-working staff and food looks good. I will be forever grateful. Thank you so much."</p><p><strong>G F</strong><br />carehome.co.uk rating: 4.64 out of 5</p>

<p>"The Pentland View is a welcoming and friendly care home. All the staff are approachable and helpful if you have any problems. The living room is large and tastefully furnished and is a good place for families to get together. The large garden is well maintained and we use it frequently weather permitting. I would have no problem in recommending the care home to anyone looking to place a loved one."</p><p><strong>S K</strong><br />carehome.co.uk rating: 4.33 out of 5</p>

<p>"Carers cannot be faulted. All are diligent, thoughtful and patient. Food is adequate but varies with who the cook is on duty. One instance, omelette like a flat piece of cardboard, totally indigestible! Garden peas served al dente and hardly cooked enough. Eggs, poached or fried, yolks are always hard."</p><p><strong>D M</strong><br />carehome.co.uk rating: 3.83 out of 5</p>

<p>"My husband has lived here for 18 months. We had respite experience of another home. Pentland view is vastly superior. The quality standard comes from the top. The manager of Pentland view and senior nursing staff re approachable and very hands-on and dependable. My concerns always are acknowledged and addressed. The carers are kind and considerate."</p><p><strong>E W</strong><br />carehome.co.uk rating: 4.73 out of 5</p>

"I was apprehensive about going into a nursing home as I have always been independent but my son was advised by a doctor for my safety. I can honestly say that I am very happy and surprised. The home is lovely and comfortable. The food is excellent and the staff are excellent too."

Norah Bcarehome.co.uk rating: 4.92 out of 5

"The staff are all of a kind caring nature and go about their work with tender loving care."

James Mcarehome.co.uk rating: 5 out of 5

"I cannot praise this home enough. The care my mother has received is first class. Exceptional, friendly staff... All willing to go 'the extra mile'. All work well as a team and the manager and the head of the unit ensure the staff deliver an excellent standard of care. I am updated daily on mum's frail condition and have every confidence that mum's privacy and dignity are respected at all times."

Angela Scarehome.co.uk rating: 4.5 out of 5

"I have visited Pentland View for many years. Firstly to visit a friend, then my aunt was a resident. At present, I have been visiting a friend for 6 years, so probably a visitor for well over 20 years. The home is always clean and tidy. The staff are pleasant and helpful! Some entertainment is provided. A hairdresser and a podiatrist visit regularly. The meals are good. The staff have made an attractive garden. I had looked at nursing homes in Helensborough for my aunt but decided Pentland View was superior."
