Activities at Ottley House Care Home
At Ottley House, we offer a person-centred activities programme, and aim to match residents' abilities and interests with meaningful activities of the correct degree of challenge that promotes their health and well-being. We also provide visual, tactile, audible and olfactory sensory experiences. There are weekly music/movement therapy sessions, 'Oomph' sessions, and arts & crafts classes to help improve, maintain and refine motor skills. We enjoy regular visits from entertainers, musicians and animal therapists, as well as pub nights, 'food from around the world' days, and minibus outings to places of interest.

Trip to Ellesmere Lake
We took a trip out to Ellesmere where we enjoyed a walk along the Promenade at The Mere.
The Mere at Ellesmere is an award winning Park with a beautiful lake with gardens, woodland walks and historic parkland on the edge of the medieval market town of Ellesmere. It is the largest of nine meres and mosses that can be found in the unique Shropshire landscape. Our residents agree we are so lucky to have this just a short drive away.
It really is a great place to watch the wildlife or just watch the world go by and relax over tea and cake in the historic Boathouse.
The park is predominantly flat, and provides a number of easy access walking routes so is a great place for all our residents to visit.

Happy New Year
We are all looking forward to 2024 and all it has to offer us.
To help kick-start the New Year many of us gathered in one of our communal lounges to ring in the New Year with a song and a drink (or two!)
Here’s to fresh adventures, new memories, and unexplored opportunities.

Best Christmas Ever?
It was a day full of fun, love and laughter. It was wonderful that so many relatives and friends were able to join us throughout the day.
The kitchen staff did us proud serving the most delicious 3 course festive feast and the rest of the Ottley team: - nurses, carers, activities and domestics ensured everyone enjoyed the celebrations.
Time was spent reminiscing about past Christmases and Residents, visitors and staff all said that this one was definitely up there as one of the best.

Ottley House Tantalising Treats
Our very talented chef Milen, spent many hours, 15 in total!!! Baking and decorating our Christmas cake.
Everything was made by his own fair hands and we thought it was so brilliant that we entered it into the Barchester Christmas cake competition.
We are also very much looking forward to a slice on Christmas day as we are sure it will taste just as good as it looks.

It’s Party Time at Ottley House
We were in full swing at our residents Christmas party.
Singer Paul Watkins, soon had us “rockin’ around the Christmas tree” and “walking in a winter wonderland”
To finish off such a fun afternoon our amazing kitchen staff served up a delicious buffet.

Ottley House is Feeling very Festive
The decorations are up and the lights are on!
We have a wonderful array of activities going on all throughout December from carol singing, Christmas movies, mulled wine and minced pies to trips to see the towns Christmas lights and gardens.
