Activities at Lochduhar Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Lochduhar Care Home

Love is in The Air at Lochduhar

Love was in the air  at Lochduhar as residents celebrated Valentine’s Day surrounded by their loved ones, flowers, cards and sweets in celebration of the most romantic day of the year.

Staff, residents and guests started their celebration of love with a family and friends valentine’s themed cocktail party and live entertainment with popular vocalist, Gary Shanks. Carer, Adam even turned waiter for the afternoon to the delight of everyone. The day was full of romance, messages of love before taking to the dance floor to sing and dance as Gary performed a medley of love songs.

Operations Manager, Farai Hanyane said: “This week has shown us all that you are never too old for love. We’ve had a whole range of treats and Valentine’s themed fun for the individuals that live here and their guests and we have enjoyed every moment of it!”

World Chocolate Cake Day

Residents at Lochduhar celebrated World Chocolate Cake by day getting into the spirit of baking chocolate cupcakes. Once their cake mixture was ready, cases were filled and put in the oven.

Residents relaxed and enjoyed a cuppa and chat, discussing the different cake flavours and their favourite ones.

The residents really engaged with this activity and enjoyed mixing the ingredients, helping each other. One resident said while eating her chocolate cake: “This is the best part”.
