Activities at Hugh Myddelton House Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Hugh Myddelton House Care Home

International Nurses Day

We had a very special celebration at Hugh Myddelton House as the 12th of May is International nurses day. This year, more than ever, we are hugely indebted to all our care staff, and we are incredibly proud to applaud their extraordinary efforts and commitment, on this special day of recognition. International Nurses’ Day is a day to give thanks for the dedication of care givers everywhere, who go above and beyond the call of duty to deliver extraordinary care and support. Hugh Myddelton House Celebrated with a presentation for our amazing team.

Welcome back Rose our in house hairdresser

All at Hugh Myddelton House were delighted to welcome back Rose. Rose is our in house hairdresser and it was so lovely seeing her back in our beautiful salon. There was a line of excited residents eager to have their hair done. Welcome back Rose we missed you.

VE Day memories

Residents and staff at Hugh Myddelton House marked the 76th anniversary of VE Day. We listened to Churchill's iconic speech and remembered the songs famous from the War era. We reminisced about the history of that time and what life was like back then.

A Touch of Mexico

Residents at Hugh Myddelton House in Southgate went loco celebrating Cinco de Mayo which takes place on 5th May every year. We watched videos of parades and celebrations in Mexico, travelled virtually to different historic sites in Mexico. We had a brilliant Mexican party with Mariachi music and traditional Mexican food including tacos, burritos and enchiladas.

What a fun and colourful afternoon.

A variety of visits

Here at Hugh Myddelton House we are pleased to be able to offer a variety of types of visits to support safe opportunities for family and friends to be together. A loved one at Hugh Myddelton House can have dedicated visits in their bedroom, use of our visiting suite as well as spend time in our beautiful gardens with friends and families enjoying high tea or even a glass of fizz! We joined in a quiz and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. We finished the day with a Toast. Happy St Georges Day.
