Activities at Highfield Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Neil Barnard

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Neil, and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Highfield! I joined the team and role in March 2025.

I love being around people and making a difference to those individuals. Just to see the smiles on their faces brings so much pleasure. I have been a vocalist since 2021, and singing brings me so much joy. You may hear me before you see me.

Don’t be shy—come say hello! I hope you can join us for the fun activities we have planned!

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Highfield Care Home

A luxury new care home for you!

Our Marketing Suite is now open - interest is high and we'd love to show you around.

We are offering tailored care in the very best surroundings, we treat everyone as an individual, ensuring residents continue their much-loved hobbies and routines, and are served their favourite dishes in sociable dining rooms and will be welcoming our first residents in mid-May.

Floral Masterclass with Kathryn Delve

Across our homes we had a fantastic time joining, Kathryn Delve, Master Florist, for a Valentine’s-inspired live virtual flower arranging demonstration. Kathryn shared brilliant and creative ways to decorate our tables with beautiful flowers that are sure to make your heart swoon!

Those participating in this virtual event put their skills to the test and followed along with some amazing creations of their own.  Residents truly enjoyed the experience.

Insight to our new build

We are thrilled to share an insight to our build journey with you as we look forward to our marketing suite opening soon!

At Highfield we believe every person should be treated as an individual, with personalised care provided in the very best surroundings.

That’s why our home has been designed with our residents’ comfort, well-being and happiness in mind.

We will have a stylish café, which will be stocked with delicious home-made treats and spa bathrooms for luxurious bath time experiences to a well-appointed hair salon for pamper sessions and sociable dining rooms, serving residents' favourite dishes.

Medical Detection Dogs

Across our services residents had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event, led by Emilia from Medical Detection Dogs. Emilia took us on a journey to discover how the organisation began training dogs to support people with complex health conditions, saving their lives on a daily basis.

Using their amazing sense of smell, these dogs can identify odour changes emitted prior an episode and alert the person to take preventative action.

We were introduced to the wonderful dogs and the science behind the sniff.  It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our canine-loving residents.
