Activities Coordinator

My name is Sophie, I am the Activities Coordinator here at Herne Place Care Home. It is my duty to ensure all residents feel happy and content. I love my job because I enjoy seeing our residents smiling and having fun on a daily basis.

I enjoy getting to know all of our residents on a one-to-one basis and in a group setting. This allows me to get to know their hobbies and ambitions as individuals, and fulfil these with life enriching activities they appreciate and will benefit from.

Nutrition & Hydration week

This week we are celebrating Nutrition and Hydration Week with lots of yummy, wholesome food, thirst quenching beverages and some interesting activities along the way.

On Tuesday the residents prepared a variety of fruit and made their own smoothies which they thoroughly enjoyed.

American Country & Western Afternoon

Thank you to the amazing singer Jasmine and her partner for an outstanding American Country & Western afternoon. Everybody had so much fun.

Staff, residents & relatives were all singing and dancing along to the songs, whilst also enjoying a nice little tipple.

British Pie Week

Over the course of the week, overseen by Head Chef, Fran, staff and residents have enjoyed many different types of pie fillings and flavour combinations, from more traditional meat and vegetable fillings, to sweet pies.

Good old fashion sing a long

Yesterday afternoon, our residents sang at the top of their voices as they enjoyed a good old fashion sing a long with a few of them enjoying a dance too.

Art Class

This afternoon our residents have had an art class and they have painted some amazing artwork.
