Activities at Hall Park Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Christmas Jumper Day

Residents and staff at Hall Park Care Home are helping to make the world a better place by wearing a festival jumper on Thursday 8th December in aid of Save the Children’s annual fundraising event, Christmas Jumper Day. All residents and staff at Hall Park have been encouraged to buy, borrow or decorate their own special Christmas jumpers and donate to Save the Children. Some of the residents have been very creative and decorated their own glitzy knitwear with tinsel, stars, baubles and snowflakes.

Local store donate to festive hamper

Local superstore, Morrisons, which has a long-standing relationship with Hall Park care home in Bulwell has very kindly donated to the home’s Christmas Raffle. Morrisons’ Community Champions for Bulwell, Georgina Cumberland and Amanda King visited the home bringing some Christmas Cheer and early gifts for the Alzheimer’s fund raiser organised by the home.

Jody Rakhra, General Manager at Hall Park, commented: “We were so touched to receive the cakes, mince pies and mini G&Ts for the raffle.  We are raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society and this gift will really help us sell more tickets, we really enjoy seeing the Morrisons Community Champions out and about helping the local area in many ways.  We welcome people in the local community to come our dementia café held at the home on the first Tuesday of each month from 2:30 – 4:00pm where we will continue to raise funds for this very important cause that is close to our hearts at Hall Park”

Residents enjoy panto performance

Residents at Hall Park were treated to a special Christmas themed pantomime performance by cats and pyjamas productions. Everyone enjoyed the timeless tale full of magical twists, fun, laughter and adventures. It was wonderful to see how much our residents interacted throughout the show with everyone clapping and singing along as laughter filled the room. After the performance we all sang a selection of carols together and enjoyed festive mince pies.

We all had a wonderful afternoon

Elf day at Hall Park

Staff at Hall Park Care Home swapped their uniforms for costumes on National Elf Day on Friday 2nd December in an effort to raise funds to help people living with dementia.

Launched by the Alzheimer’s Society and delivered direct from the North Pole, Elf Day was created to sprinkle some festive cheer on fundraising towards finding a cure for dementia. From stripy socks to head-to-toe elf outfits, anything goes – there’s snow better way to raise money to help beat dementia.

Residents enjoy live performance

Our residents have had a fun pack day again today. This morning we had a lovely sing along with some singer Russell Weaver, who had everyone sing along to some old classics like “you make me feel so young and come fly with me”. Brenda enjoyed it so much that she couldn’t resist getting up and having a dance. In the afternoon we had some excited winners in our weekly game of bingo where one of our residents Susan

Getting into the festive spirit!

Today at Hall Park and some of the residents started to put up the many Christmas trees.  Team work makes the dream work and we all pitched in to start untangling the lights, choosing the decorations and we spoke about what other decorations we would like to buy to add to the trees and around the home.

This unlocked so many memories of Christmas’s past and our childhoods. We discussed what our favourite parts of Christmas are and of course the delicious food. One resident said their favourite part of Christmas is the lights and to see them twinkle
