Activities at Hall Park Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Natasha Lindo

Activities Coordinator

Natasha is the Activities Coordinator here at Hall Park. Natasha really enjoys her job as no two days are ever the same. The life enrichment and daily activities program aims to provide stimulation for the mind, body and soul by engaging with residents daily.  We all love to use our imagination and here we encourage creative activities. We also have a minibus which is used weekly to take residents out to cafes, local beauty spots and day trips.

Our NHS is 75!

Yesterday, we joyfully marked the Birthday of the NHS by hosting a memorable celebration filled with delightful activities and lots of delicious treats for any visiting professionals at Hall Park.

As a gesture of our deep appreciation for their unwavering commitment and support, we thoughtfully assembled goodie bags filled with homemade sweet and savoury treats, which we distributed as a team to our local hospital, Nottingham City Hospital, and GP surgery.

Additionally, both residents and team members took the time to express their gratitude by writing and sending out heartfelt thank you cards to the dedicated social and healthcare professionals in our community. We all had a wonderful time.

4th July Celebrations

Happy 4th July to our American friends and families!

We celebrated American Independence Day by making American themed decorations, singing along to old American classic songs such as La Bamba and in the afternoon we watched a Laurel and Hardy movie, complete with popcorn of course.

Resident, Mary said she “fully enjoyed watching the duo and she had forgot how funny they are, it was so nice to see the other residents laughing along to the movie too”.

Happy 102nd Birthday Annie!

Staff and residents at Hall Park would like to wish our special lady, Annie a big happy 102 birthday! Annie was born in 1921 and has lived with us since 2017. She is such an integral part of our family now, we all loved celebrating her!

Annie celebrated her day with friends and family enjoying not just one birthday cake of course, but two! Including a beautiful chocolate cake made by our Chef, Charmaine. A wonderful day was had by everyone, reading Annie's cards and spending her special day with her.

A huge thank you to all our team for going the extra mile to make Annie’s day extra special.

Rum Punch!

Our residents celebrated and learnt all about the Windrush era recently, by watching a documentary about the arrival of the Empire Windrush in Tilbury Docks, Essex, on 22 June 1948. The ship carried 1027 Caribbean people who had come to the UK to help rebuild the country after the Second World War.

After watching the documentary, they enjoyed a game of dominoes which is popular in Jamaica and all relished in a rum punch made with Jamaican white rum.

Even our General Manager Jodie got involved, and played her first game of dominoes which she won. A great day was had by all!

Eyes Down for National Bingo Day

Our staff and residents celebrated National Bingo Day with a bingo game marathon, where some brilliant prizes were won which put big smiles on our winners faces!

Our resident ambassador Susan had the official title of 'Bingo Caller' for the day, she called out the numbers and did a fantastic job.

Bingo as a game is a national treasure and said to be one of the most popular hobbies in the UK, which we love to embrace.

Everyone at Hall Park would like to thank Georgina at Morrisons Bulwell and Bulwell Hall Golf Course for their kind donations of prizes.
