Activities at Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Marie Spires
Marie Joined Hafan Y Coed in February as the Lead Activities Coordinator. Marie has come from a Sales and Marketing background but has always had an interest in working in the care sector. Marie will lead the activities team and have a lot of input in the day to day organising and planning of events. Marie said “ I am very excited to have been given the opportunity to making a difference to the life enrichment for the residents. I like to make people happy and think my bubbly personality will brighten the residents day. I have a love for singing and will definitely be heard around the home for sure! I hope our new activities team will make a huge difference to the day to day lives of the residents at Hafan y Coed

Employee of the Month - September
Congratulations to Head of Housekeeping, Nicola Kearney, who was named as Hafan-Y-Coed's Employee of the Month for September.
Nicola stepped up into the role of Head of Housekeeping in April 2017 and has been the driving force behind the housekeeping team ever since.
She has been recognised by her colleagues as being supportive, encouraging and having a ‘nothing is too much trouble' attitude – well done, Nic!
Summer Fête
Our Summer Fête was a huge success, with a home full of fun and laughter – and donkeys!
Cake Baking
Residents were delighted with the finished products from our weekly cake class session!
Care Home Open Day
Residents, staff members, loved ones and visitors were treated to lots of great food and fun entertainment during Care Home Open Day.
Hafan Y Coed's Divisional Winner
Congratulations to Donna Pinpus, who has been named as a Divisional Winner for Carer of the Year at this year's Barchester Care Awards.
