Activities at Glebefields Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Activities Assistant

Hi, I'm Ashitha, and I'm proud to be part of the team at Glebefields Care Home as an Activities Assistant. I joined the Glebefields family in 2023, having earned my master’s degree in electrical engineering from Coventry University. Despite my engineering background, I bring a fresh perspective to enriching the lives of our residents. I enjoy creating an environment where they can have fun, connect with others, and stay mind active. Together with my co-workers, I'm dedicated to making every moment special for our residents, bringing happiness and meaning to their lives. It's an honour to be part of such a compassionate and dedicated team at Glebefields Care Home.

Harvest Festival with St. Peter's Church

We gathered for a heart warming Harvest Festival service right here at Glebefields Care Home. Led by Vicar Guy from Drayton and St. Peter's Church, this celebration allowed us to give thanks for the bountiful harvest season.

We extended a warm welcome to all who joined us for this meaningful occasion. The photos from the day capture the spirit of gratitude and community. Let's cherish these memories as we continue to celebrate the harvest season together.

Autumnal Activities

We had a lovely time with leaf painting and printing, allowing our creativity to flourish and transforming leaves into stunning pieces of art. It was an enjoyable and artistic way to celebrate the beauty of nature.

Celebrating a 5-Star Rating

Congratulations Team!

There were happy scenes at Barchester’s Glebefields Care Home this week as staff and residents celebrated the home receiving a 5-star Food Hygiene Rating by the local authority on 14th September 2023.

The achievement is the highest rating a care home can receive from an Environmental Health officer, and shows the home has complied with all the statutory obligations; showing outstanding food hygiene standards.

General Manager, Nisha Shaji commented “Following the unannounced inspection, we’re extremely pleased to have been awarded 5-stars for our food hygiene. Achieving the highest possible standard is incredibly important and I’m so proud of Head Chef Bose Jose and the Hospitality team at Glebefields.

Chef Bose joined the team in June 2022, this award is in recognition of his extensive knowledge and continued hard work in maintaining the hygiene and cleanliness standards in our kitchen.

Food hygiene ratings are an inspection given to a food business that reflects the standards of food hygiene found on the date of inspection or visit by the local authority.

The ratings assess:

- How hygienically food is handled – prepared, cooked, reheated, cooled and stored.
- The cleanliness of a business, including taking into consideration layout and ventilation.
- How food records are managed.
