Activities at Elgar Court Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Kerrie Perks

Activities Leader

Hello, My name is Kerrie and I provide the unique life enrichment for residents at Elgar Court.  I moved to Malvern 12 years ago to live with my fiance and we have two tortoises and a snake.  I love to play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends.  I am very 'outdoorsy' and used to ride horses and compete nationally in athletics, specialising in track and field for Redditch and Bromsgrove athletics club.  In my spare time, I love being in the kitchen and making treats for my family.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Pitter patter of pumpkins!

Pitter patter of pumpkins!

Just like our home is growing, and so are our pumpkins ready for Halloween!

These little beauties were planted from a seed in the summer by our residents, and we now have some little budding pumpkins flourishing - we just hope the shelves will take the weight!

Five Star Review!

We are so pleased to receive this FIVE STAR review from our resident's family on Carehome.co.uk.

"What a wonderful caring place. My mum in law was adamant that she would not go into a care home. At 98 the family decided the time had come and we brought her on a 5 hour trip to Elgar Court.

She had a terrible journey and we arrived after 19.30, but all the staff were absolutely wonderful, she was looked after very well. The 'care for her started as she came through the doors'. A staff member had stayed on to do an assessment, the caring staff took on her care, we were all offered a great meal, and we left her well fed and comfortable in bed.

After 8 days at Elgar Court, she says it a marvellous place, and indeed it is, costly but certainly value for money.

Great care and life enrichment. Thank you every one of you"

Welcoming New Friends

We were excited to meet residents from another Barchester home this week, and welcomed them to our coffee morning at Elgar Court.  Over tea, coffee, cakes and chatter, new friendships were formed and life is never dull at our home.  We will always continue to look at different ways to entertain and enrich the lives of our residents at Barchester.  Thank you for coming to see us and we look forward to visiting you in your home!

Going, going Gonk!

One of our amazing residents has a hidden talent……Freddy raised over £500 making these wonderful Gonks for charity last year and we are hoping to raise money for Alzheimer's and Macmillan Cancer Support this month. The work both these charities do is phenomenal, both supporting people with these illnesses and finding ways to improve lives.

So we are fundraising for Alzheimer's and Macmillan Cancer Support, and we would love you to join us at our Macmillan Coffee morning on 29th September to buy one of these magical creations. All proceeds will be split between Macmillan Nurses and The Alzheimers Society.
