Activities at Elgar Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Kerrie Perks
Hello, My name is Kerrie and I provide the unique life enrichment for residents at Elgar Court. I moved to Malvern 12 years ago to live with my fiance and we have two tortoises and a snake. I love to play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends. I am very 'outdoorsy' and used to ride horses and compete nationally in athletics, specialising in track and field for Redditch and Bromsgrove athletics club. In my spare time, I love being in the kitchen and making treats for my family.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Dreamboats and Petticoats – Swinging 50s songs with Kirsty
Our residents loved the musical favourites from the 50s era and sung by delightfully by Kirsty from Mini Concerts. A morning of signing and clapping resounded our home and we can’t wait to see them again on Valentines day. If you would like to come along to this event and enjoy our mini concert, please do give us a call so we can save you a seat!

Read All About It!
Getting our minibus we christened Mabel, was a Christmas dream come true, and now all of our residents can go out and about. Our Resident Ambassador Maureen had lived in Malvern for many, many years and when she had to move into a Worcester care home due to ill health, she missed going to the local Malvern library. When Elgar Court opened in Malvern last summer, she was one of the very first to hurry back and move in! One of Maureen’s dearest wishes was to continue going to the local Malvern library and choose her books, and now we can continue helping Maureen with one of favourite pastimes in our Minibus Mabel!

Does anyone want to beat our Scrabble Champion?
Keeping your body and brain active is not only mentally and physically stimulating, and playing games with residents keeps that competitive community spirit going! This week, Alice, who is 103 years young, beat Jenny at Scrabble – again! This just goes to prove that the keeping mentally agile is why Alice is in such fantastic shape!

An afternoon of keepie-uppie with jokes and tongue twisters
The residents had a real giggle keeping a balloon in the air and doing a forfeit of a joke or a tongue twister if they dropped it the balloon. This game was fabulous for flexibility, coordination, and reaction speeds. Most of all, though, it was great fun! At the end of this fun game, the lovely Alice (103 years young) needed a cuppa and to put her feet up!

A wee dram or two? Whiskey tasting\
As part of our Burns Supper of with traditional Haggis, Neeps and Tatties served to our residents, we offered a whiskey tasting event to see who could taste the difference between blended and single malt Whiskies. Our residents are clearly connoisseurs of the finer things in life (of course!), and correctly identified each whiskey blend correctly!

Merry Christmas
What a wonderful five months our home has seen, welcoming all our new residents.
We would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas from all our residents and team at Elgar Court. We look forward to meeting new residents in the new year.
