Activities at Caldy Manor Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators work together to provide daily activities suited to the tastes of residents. We encourage those we support to continue with any hobbies whilst they stay at home. We also hold group activities, such as exercise to music, sing-alongs, craft sessions and visits to local places of interest. There are also evening events, including cheese & wine evenings and race nights. We keep families up-to-date through our newsletter and notices that can be found across the home. Family and friends are always welcome to join in!

Life at Caldy Manor Care Home

Elf day

Today we enjoyed all our naughty elves coming to have some fun with the residents. The staff thoroughly enjoyed dressing up which our resident’s really enjoy seeing this side to the staff. We hid some elves around the home which the staff really enjoyed taking part in specially when the winner won a bottle of wine!

Decorating the home for Christmas

We all enjoyed participating in decorating the home for Christmas whilst enjoying mulled wine, mince pies and Christmas music. One of our residents donated a Christmas tree and decoration’s and took pride in decorating it in the dining room for us all to enjoy. We all had such a festive afternoon and talked about when the residents decorated their homes with the children.

Tripping the light fantastic!

The team from Barchester’s Caldy Manor care home, in Caldy, got into the Christmas spirit by taking some of their residents on a fantastic trip to Blackpool to see the famous lights and visit the impressive Tower Ballroom.

Residents and staff had a fab-u-lars time visiting Blackpool Tower and the beautiful Tower Ballroom that has to be seen to be believed. They all enjoyed dancing together listening to the organist and, when they needed a rest, they sat down to watch the other dancers while having some delicious wine and cake

Intergenerational play session

Caldy Manor care home, in Wirral recently hosted an intergenerational playgroup for residents and members of the local community from St Bridget’s church. The event welcomed the group of babies and their parents and carers, who all attend St Bridget’s baby group, to enjoy music, activities and socialise with the residents.

The group of parents, carers and babies enjoyed lots of different fun activities with the residents including a singalong to their favourite songs such as twinkle twinkle as well as some sensory play with scarves and bubbles. They all enjoyed singing their favourite songs which brought back some wonderful memories for the residents and they even learnt some new songs.

Weekly outing on the bus

We have been to a few places this month on the bus such as Birkenhead priory looking over to Liverpool eating lunch on the bus. New Brighton for fish and chips, park Gate and Carr Farm to look at Christmas decorations and to get some crafts for our next craft activity.

Weekly crosswords

Our weekly crosswords has been a massive hit with Caldy Manor and residents can’t get enough of them. Residents ask to do them all the time that they have now requested for a crossword competition. This is some think we will arrange for the near future.
