Activities at Bere Grove Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Hollie Wren

Activities Co-ordinator

Hi, I'm Hollie. I have worked in healthcare for six years taking on a variety of roles. I am so proud to be heading up the activity team and supporting our residents with a life-enriching programme of events. I am highly motivated and love sharing my creative and imaginative side with everyone. I truly believe age is just a number and there is nothing we cannot achieve if we work together.

I like to create a person-centred activity programme so each resident gets the opportunity to enjoy what they love. This is their time to relax, enjoy and have fun.

Life at Bere Grove Care Home

It's Official We are Open

What a wonderful day we had. We welcomed local community, professionals and our very first residents to enjoy some fabulous Bere Grove Hospitality. Anthony Williams the chairman of East Hants district gave a speech and unveiled our plaque. Our chef's created delicious canape's all washed down with lots fo fizz. There was a chance to view the home in all its glory and generally have a wonderful opening event.

Bere Grove at Angel Radio

We were welcomed onto Angel Radio in Havant, we chatted with Tony about the Barchester approach to person centred care and our beautiful new home Bere Grove which is set to open later this month.  Whilst we were there one of our wonderful new guests, who is waiting to join us called in to say Hello...  We are so excited as we are counting down these last few days.  Thank-you Tony we had a great time and will definitely be back and hopefully will be able to set up that outside broadcast from the Bere Grove.

Green Fingered Girls

Our wonderful green fingered carers, Donna, Jade, Sarah and Lisa, got their fingers dirty this morning planting up our raised beds.  This was not any old planting, all these plants came from the garden of our first new residents, they are just waiting for the home to open and wanted to bring some of their favourite plants, so that makes these plants just so extra special

CAKE......!

A big part of the Barchester Way is the premium experience.... James our new Head Chef baked our first Lemon Drizzle Cake in the Bere Grove Kitchen.  Everyone who tried it commented on the lightness and intense lemon flavour.  I cannot wait to try the Coffee and Walnut cake.  If you or anyone you know would like to have a look around our beautiful luxury care home and come and try our freshly baked cakes- please do call me on        07881 379893.  We cannot wait to showcase, James, his cakes and our beautiful, luxury Bere Grove

Out in the Community Networking

Out and about in the community this morning meeting Lyn Massey from CU Media at her networking group at the Red Lion in Horndean.  Thankyou for sharing all the details of our events to your members... remember the free legal clinic on the 22nd at 12pm, there is just so much collaboration within the community.
