Activities at Bere Grove Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Hollie Wren

Activities Co-ordinator

Hi, I'm Hollie. I have worked in healthcare for six years taking on a variety of roles. I am so proud to be heading up the activity team and supporting our residents with a life-enriching programme of events. I am highly motivated and love sharing my creative and imaginative side with everyone. I truly believe age is just a number and there is nothing we cannot achieve if we work together.

I like to create a person-centred activity programme so each resident gets the opportunity to enjoy what they love. This is their time to relax, enjoy and have fun.

Food glorious Food

Here at Bere Grove, we are so lucky to have a team of fabulous award winning chefs to look after us on a daily basis.

The team focus on creating nutrient-dense recipes by adding healthy ingredients to common foods that older adults enjoy and their food is amazing.

Our first Children in Need Fundraiser

Our first fabulous Children in Need quiz raised much needed funds for the charity that improves lived of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.

With a special guest appearance of Pudsey bear, our quiz master tested our knowledge of our home and the local area, plus music, riddles and so much more.

A good time was had by all.

Thanking our Carers

Earlier this week, Bere Grove celebrated National Carers Week. This gave us the opportunity to recognise and thank, all our wonderful carers.  This included day carers, night carers and senior carers.

We are proud of each and every one of our team for the unique and outstanding compassion, empathy , patience and positivity they each bring to our residents every single day.

Our carers go above and beyond their role and for this we are all so grateful.

Thank you

Making Christmas

Its that time of year again!  Our very first Christmas here at Bere Grove Care Home.  We intend to make it the best Christmas Ever for our residents and their families.

The Reverend Dr Coleen Jackson

Here at Bere Grove, we were so lucky to have our Church service taken by the Reverend Dr Coleen Jackson, who serves for the parishes of Rowlands Castle, Blendworth, Chalton and Idsworth.

What a fabulous, interesting lady.

Coleen's friend and colleague Annie Reeve also visited our residents.

We now have a whole programme of events leading up to Christmas to be delivered to our residents and friends from the local community.

Thank you Coleen and Annie, it wad great meeting you, see you very soon.

Sing-along-a-Matt

Earlier this month we had the pleasure of welcoming our first external entertainer, Mr Matt O'Neill, he definitely delivered an amazing show.

Many of our residents and staff joined him, singing and dancing along to classic songs of the 60's and 70's.

We all really enjoyed ourselves and are looking forward to Matt coming back to entertain us again.
