I first joined Barchester Healthcare in 2009 after qualifying as a registered nurse in a Specialist Dementia Care Home in Basingstoke. After a year, I was promoted to a Head of care role where I had the opportunity to deputise for the General manager in her absence and gained good leadership and management skills.

Hi, I'm Hollie. I have worked in healthcare for six years taking on a variety of roles. I am so proud to be heading up the activity team and supporting our residents with a life-enriching programme of events. I am highly motivated and love sharing my creative and imaginative side with everyone. I truly believe age is just a number and there is nothing we cannot achieve if we work together.

I like to create a person-centred activity programme so each resident gets the opportunity to enjoy what they love. This is their time to relax, enjoy and have fun.

James Owen

Head Chef

I joined the Bere Grove team in July 2023. Having started my career as a pot wash at the tender age of Thirteen. I successfully worked my way up and became Senior Sous Chef at the Imperial Hotel in Torquay. From there I went on to Head Chef at Portsmouth University and Winchester College.

For me, the most rewarding part of my role is making people smile through food. We will be growing our own vegetables here at home taking them form garden to plate. Our residents will be a huge part of the process and it will be fun for everyone to enjoy the fruits of their labour.
