Activities at Arbour Court Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a variety of activities and events for all residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus, visits from entertainers and musicians and small group and individual activities in quiet yet stimulating environments. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect resident individual interests as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at Arbour Court Care Home

Starlings virtual talk

Across our services our residents have enjoyed a wonderful live virtual talk about starlings, one of the UK’s most gregarious birds, hosted by Rachel Dowse from The Royal Parks London.

Rachel examined our long history with this bird and the importance of common species to our lives. Our residents had the opportunity to find out more about the great murmuration and why we need to pay special attention to these beauties before it's too late.

The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all.

Residents receive Christmas cards from local school

Residents of Arbour Court were delighted to receive a bundle of personalised Christmas cards from local school, Handforth Grange Primary School. The home reached out to their local community to see if anyone would be interested in bringing joy to residents and sharing a little festive cheer and were overwhelmed with the response!

Virtual trip to the Donkey Sanctuary

Across our services, Residents enjoyed a fantastic virtual tour of the Donkey Sanctuary Manchester.  Residents were thrilled to meet the lovely herd of donkeys, including Henry and his best friend Tiny Tim and to learn more about their every day care.  They were introduced to the sanctuary’s work and the impact they make to the lives of donkeys in need worldwide.  The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all.

Garden delight

We have been taking Autumn walks in our garden admiring the most beautiful array of colours. With thanks as always to Stephen Tatton our Gardener for all his hard work come rain or shine. Ensuring we always have a our special garden to relax in.

Seasonal art class

We have been pumpkin painting for Halloween in our popular arts and crafts group. Our residents and staff found the painting very therapeutic and all produced amazing paintings using seasonal colours and styles.

Pumpkin carving

We had a lovely time carving our pumpkins for Halloween. It was also a time for reminiscence with one gentleman saying "I did this when i was a lad with my mum".
