Activities at Glebefields Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Ashitha Dinesh
Hi, I'm Ashitha, and I'm proud to be part of the team at Glebefields Care Home as an Activities Assistant. I joined the Glebefields family in 2023, having earned my master’s degree in electrical engineering from Coventry University. Despite my engineering background, I bring a fresh perspective to enriching the lives of our residents. I enjoy creating an environment where they can have fun, connect with others, and stay mind active. Together with my co-workers, I'm dedicated to making every moment special for our residents, bringing happiness and meaning to their lives. It's an honour to be part of such a compassionate and dedicated team at Glebefields Care Home.
Activities and Events Partnerships

Life at Glebefields Care Home

National Chocolate Day !
We celebrated National Chocolate Day with a fun activity: making home made chocolate cupcakes! Residents and staff gathered in the kitchen to create these delicious treats from ground up.
Our lovely resident Joan shared her home made recipe and fond memories of baking cupcakes for her children. It was a very happy moment as we mixed the batter, filled the cupcake liners, and added decorations.
Everyone chatted and smiled, making it a sweet and memorable day for all of us! At the end of the day, when we each got to enjoy our own home made cupcake, the happiness was visible.

Burn's Night Bakes and Celebrations
We had a lovely time celebrating Robert Burns Day with our residents and staff. We started the day with a tasty Scottish lunch of Scotch broth, fish pie with neeps, and cranachan for dessert. Then, we all gathered to enjoy some Scottish music and learn about Robbie Burns. After that, we had fun making shortbread together. Our home was decorated with festive decorations, and everyone had smiles on their faces. It was a day full of laughter, music, and tasty treats - a celebration to remember.

National Activity Providers Week
Last week we had the opportunity to thank our wonderful activities team here at Glebefields for there hard work and dedication in making a real difference to the lives of the residents living here. National Activity Providers & Professionals Week is an annual event to support activity professionals and thank them for all the many different varied activities they provide.
Each and every member of the team at Glebefields offer unique, tailored activities and entertainment to the residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this everyone at the home is truly grateful. As part of the celebrations, our activities team; Kay, Shyama and Ashitha were treated to a surprise party and presentation of gifts. Head chef Bose created a beautiful cake for them to enjoy.
Nisha Shaji General Manager said: “It is so wonderful to be able to celebrate National Activities Providers & Professionals Week and thank our fantastic activities teams for all their hard work by organising something for them for a change!”

Day Trip to Cotefield Nurseries
We went on a lovely trip to Cotefield Nurseries with our staff and our lovely residents, Marlene, Pauline, Sheila, and Rod. We had a great time exploring the nurseries and then stopped by the tea room for some hot drinks, which was really refreshing. It was a wonderful experience for all of us, and we're excited for more outings together!

Preparing for Burn's Night
Recap of our wonderful Burn's Night bunting making and crafting event! We had a fantastic time getting creative and making colourful bunting to celebrate the Scottish tradition. Residents and staff worked together to paint blue thistles and create lovely bunting to decorate our home. The home made bunting brightened up our surroundings here at Glebefields adding to the festival atmosphere. Keep an eye out for more upcoming events as we continue to celebrate together.
