Activities at Glebefields Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Ashitha Dinesh

Activities Assistant

Hi, I'm Ashitha, and I'm proud to be part of the team at Glebefields Care Home as an Activities Assistant. I joined the Glebefields family in 2023, having earned my master’s degree in electrical engineering from Coventry University. Despite my engineering background, I bring a fresh perspective to enriching the lives of our residents. I enjoy creating an environment where they can have fun, connect with others, and stay mind active. Together with my co-workers, I'm dedicated to making every moment special for our residents, bringing happiness and meaning to their lives. It's an honour to be part of such a compassionate and dedicated team at Glebefields Care Home.

Minibus trip out

We had a lovely trip out to Bloxham Nursery and Tea Room. It is such a beautiful place to visit. The tea room, with its patio overlooking a field of lavender, is especially charming. We can only imagine how wonderful it will be in late spring and summer when the lavender blooms. Our residents had a great time enjoying freshly brewed tea and coffee along with a slice of homemade cake. There were so many delicious options to choose from it was a treat for everyone.

Easter Bonnets Decoration

Crafting Easter bonnets isn't just tradition, it's a lovely way to celebrate Easter's spirit of new beginnings. Our residents had a lovely time for making their own bonnets and wore them with pride all weekend. We even had a fun photoshoot where everyone wore their bonnets and smiled for the camera. It was a wonderful moment of togetherness and joy.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

We had a St. Patrick's Day celebration today. We decked out our home with green decorations, raised a glass of Guinness, and spent the afternoon watching "St. Patrick: The Legend of Ireland." It was a perfect way to honour the day and reminisce about the rich history and traditions of Ireland. Cheers to good times and memorable moments.

Nutrition and Hydration Week 2024

Nutrition and Hydration Week 2024 got off to a great start, and residents were happy to be involved. Monday started off with a delicious breakfast to kick start our day. On Tuesday, we enjoyed some tasty 'Super Supper Snacks' thanks to our amazing chef. There were veggie samosas, spring rolls, cheesecake, cookies, and quiche – something for everyone to enjoy. Wednesday brought us together for a lovely tea party where we chatted over tea and snacks. It was a great way to relax and enjoy each other's company. Friday was all about trying new fruits, and our residents loved tasting the different flavours alongside some fresh juice. Saturday was Smoothie Day, and we whipped up some delicious blends for everyone to enjoy. Wrapping up the week on Sunday, we said goodbye to Nutrition and Hydration Week with some tasty snacks and treats. Our chef spoiled us with cheesy sticks, fresh fruits, juices, and, of course, some yummy cake and scones. It was a wonderful week filled with good food, drinks, and company.

Happy Birthday Dear Marlene

We had such a very good time celebrating our lovely resident Marlene's 89th birthday. Her lifelong friends, fellow residents and all the staff gathered around to share in the joy and wish her well. Marlene blew out the candles and cut her birthday cake with a big smile on her face. We surprised her with a special gift and a lovely birthday card from all of us. Marlene said: "I couldn’t of wished for a more perfect day today, fully of surprises and treats with lots of special wishes, thank you'' Here's to many more wonderful years ahead for Marlene.
