Activities at Winchester House Care Home
Our activities team are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest, including the local priory and garden centres, as well as visits from musicians, a wide range of entertainers. We are lucky enough to have a enthusiastic team of volunteers who regularly visit the home throughout the week, and our yearly pantomime is a real crowd-pleaser and is well-attended by residents, relatives and members of staff. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Winchester House is fun and active.

Life at Winchester House Care Home
St Patrick's Day Celebrations
St Patrick's day went off with a bang this March when Winchester House hosted a very special St Patrick’s celebration, with not just one, but two major events to entertain residents and their families. In the morning, Steve Erickson and his wife Pauline treated us to an hour packed show full of fun, laughter and a good old Irish singalong! Later in the afternoon, the Hackett-Kyne School of Irish Dancing captivated us with an afternoon of amazing dancing which wowed the audience.
History 4 Homes
On 14th March, William Aers from History 4 Homes attended Winchester House to provide a history workshop on ancient civilisations, dinosaurs and fossils and included the handling of artifacts. Everyone really enjoyed this fun-packed and informative morning.
Trevor Osborne Visits Winchester House
On 23rd February, Trevor Osborne came to Winchester House to perform a double bill, with shows in both Cathedral Square and Shorts Terrace. Everyone enjoyed the entertainment and we look forward to Trevor’s next visit.
