Activities at Sutton Valence Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Life at Sutton Valence Care Home

Intergenerational Fun

New is the year, new are the hopes, new is the resolution, new are the spirits and new are our warm wishes to you all. Have a promising and fulfilling New Year.

Our day was blessed with two little angels visiting their Nanny and helping us get ready to ring in the New Year.

Intergenerational activity time is so precious to witness.

Enid said "that's it put a little there, you are so clever" little ones smile was wordless!

A token of appreciation

As a small sign of appreciation and with the invaluable assistance of Adele, resident family member, the Activity Team created six surprise hampers. 2 for each community; one for a residents and one for all staff members.

The lucky recipient's numbers were entered into a random number generator.

Hey presto, winners were chosen.

Sutton Valence visit Newington court for Christmas pantomime

We’re off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz because, because, because …

our wonderful resident family wished to go to a Panto!

Wish was granted by fellow activity co-ordinator Jo from our sister home in Sittingbourne, Newington Court, who invited some of our residents to join them for their seasonal panto by Tinkled Pink Production.

Enid instantly made friends with Hetty and enjoyed the whole show with such gusto. Shiela remarked “please will you thank the cast and home for such a wonderful time”.

Lynn sat back in style and enjoyed a lovely warm glass of mulled wine whilst soaking up the whole atmosphere.

Christmas Fayre

There were all kinds of stalls on offer manned by volunteers, friends and family and lots of local stall holders came along to sell their wares too.  There were delicious mince pies, mulled wine, lovely craft items, residents stall, and even a visit from Father Christmas himself and his Elf who delivered presents around the home.

Cllr Gordon Newton visits Sutton Valence

We had the pleasure of inviting Mayor of Maidstone Gordon Newton and his lovely wife Carol into our home to support our Don’t dine alone initiative. They spent the afternoon walking around meeting and chatting to residents and staff. It was a pleasure and look forward to inviting the Mayor back soon.
