Activities at Queens Court Care Home

Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, providing fun and companionship, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained and that life at Queens Court is fun and active. Throughout the home, there is a choice of lounges, which have been designed for people who enjoy socialising and love making new friends. Music therapy, speakers of interest, events, cinema screenings and family events are offered regularly, as well as the Book Club or Poetry Corner, for those who enjoy quieter activities. Our social programme is varied and exciting and is available seven days a week. You can be as busy as you like. Our friends of Queens Court regularly support our special events and activities at the home, which include trips to the seaside and National Trust site

Monthly shopping at Marks and Spencer!

Our residents are delighted with the summer collection of our favourite store, it was a Day full of shopping and fun.

Residents found everything they need, summer dresses, shoes and even potted flowers.

After a successful shopping trip we all spent a wonderful time in a café having a natter over coffee and delicious cake .

We love our monthly shopping.

Memorial Afternoon at Queens Court

A very Special Day for all of us, a reminder of those who are no longer with us.

Live classical music, reading poetry by our staff and guest made this afternoon very special.

Thank you very much our Mayor Gill Manly for accepting the invitation and being our guest on this special day for us.

It was an amazing afternoon.

Cares Week at Queens Court

This year, Queens Court Care Home celebrated Carers Week with a special week-long event. Each day of the week was dedicated to a different topic related to the work of carers. The event highlighted how much care is needed and how responsible it is, and that it comes straight from the heart.

The week culminated in a party for the carers, where our manager Shaaron Caratella gave a speech and presented them with gifts. It was a beautiful day full of emotions because some of our employees have been with us for 20 years.

National Fish & Chips Day

How much we love to celebrate days like this!

Every Friday our best chef prepares fish and chips for us but how nice it is to have lunch in restaurant  together on a sunny day.

The day was full of jokes and smiles .

Trip to Horniman Museum and Gardens

We had a wonderful time at the Horniman Museums last week! It was a special place to enjoy and relax with our lovely Residents. They were fascinated by the old musical instruments and costumes from different parts of the world. They also left a message on the beautiful culture tree. And of course, we couldn't miss the delicious tea and biscuits at the end. What a great day!

International Nurses Day

Today is a special day for our nurses at Queens Court. It's International Nurses Day, which honours the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

We are so grateful for our nurses, who are our future. They care for our residents with compassion and professionalism. They make our care home a happy and safe place.

We wanted to show our appreciation for our nurses with some fun activities and gifts. We started the day with a delicious breakfast, followed by a Scrabble game with our residents. We also gave them diplomas, presents and a relaxing hand massage.

Thank you, nurses, for everything you do. You are amazing!
