What our families say

My mother was admitted to Queens Court in Feb 2023, she stayed at Queens Court for 28 months until my brother, against all family wishes, transferred her to another private care home due to financial disputes with family members. To sum it up, my mother got moved from a Ritz Carlton type of care home to a Travel Lodge type of care home. Would love to bring her back to Queens Court. During the 28 months that my 95 year old mom was at Queens Court, she was cared for with sincere love and compassion. We all loved visiting her at Queens Court, honestly it felt like home from the second you walked into the place. Absolutely loved the "happy" environment, the activities were so much fun, everything was very well planned. We are grateful for the loving care provided to my mom during her stay. Cannot thank management and staff enough for such a well run care home, worth every penny.

I went to the home with my mother without a pre-arranged appointment and Shaaron Caratella the Manager couldn’t have been kinder. She treated my mum with so much respect and really took the time to get to know her better and find out what’s important to her, addressing her directly rather than me as the daughter which is so important. There was NO pushy ‘sales’ and everyone in the home was so welcoming. THANK YOU Shaaron, I have every confidence that if my mum makes the move here, the transition will be easier with you and your lovely team.

Lovely care home, close to the station and has a car park. Friendly staff, they were very helpful on arrival. Home looks nice, looks quite modern, decorated well - well lit, lots of plants, furniture looks new. It does separate itself from other care homes. Won't mention residents of the care home. But visiting it did leave a good impression.

My first impression is that it is a Home from Home . The staff from management, reception, catering, nursing were extremely professional and friendly, making our short visit very welcome. The Home was clean and well furnished, with good facilities for the residents. With Queens Court Care Home so centralised and near to transport hubs, shops , supermarkets- it is certainly a very convenient place to reside in.
Thank you to all the staff for making it a fun and informative afternoon. A Special thank you to both Shaaron and Emilia for the hospitality shown.

We have been taking our group into local care homes to lead sing-alongs since 2014: Queen's Court was the first we started to visit regularly, and it remains a real favourite among our singers. The atmosphere is always bright and friendly, the carers really care about the residents, and the manager is always there, taking a personal interest. We all look forward to the tea and wonderful cakes they offer our group after each performance - and that's also a chance to chat with the manager and staff about which audience members have been actively participating in the singing, who might not communicate much day-to-day. It's very heartening to see how much pleasure the staff take in seeing the residents enjoying themselves.

It was an absolute pleasure to come and sing for the residents at Queens Court. The atmosphere as I walked in was lovely and calm and everywhere I looked it was immaculate. The staff are wonderful. Thoughtful, caring and very friendly and the residents look very comfortable and happy.

On the 31st May I came with my dance group to entertain the residents. We were welcomed by the staff. The residents were responsive to our performance and seemed to enjoy it. Many joined in the seated dance. This does not happen at all Care Homes
The home is clean and bright. The staff are lively and attentive to the residents. There seems to be a good rapport between them. At the end we chatted to some residents and were treated to drinks and cake, which was very welcome. We all agreed it would be a wonderful place to end up in, as the residents seemed so content and alert.

"We placed my mother with Queenscourt care home in February 2023. The fees were £8500 for four weeks and it was increased by 5% in April 2023, 7% in April 2024 and 8.3% in April 2025 putting enormous pressure on our finances. In May this year we decided to transfer my mother to a less expensive carehome and met the Manager and gave 28 days notice as required by the contract. Her response was appalling, aggressive and very upsetting. She later told my partner that my mother will aspirate if we moved her. My partner was in tears but the manager just ignored her. A few days later we changed our mind and informed the manager that we'd like to keep her at Queenscourt. Despite having three vacant rooms she refused to keep my mother and told us that we have to leave and she would not provide transport for a one mile distance. Queenscourt is now refusing to pay us the £860 refund they owe us plus £4200 deposit. I have contacted Barchester through various emails - no reply."

"My mother has been at Queens Court for just one week after spending four difficult months in hospital, and the difference we've seen already is incredible. From the moment we arrived, the staff have been nothing short of amazing - incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional. They've not only made my mum feel safe, comfortable, and cared for, but they've also been a huge support to me and my family during what has been an emotional and stressful time. Their kindness, patience, and reassuring presence have meant the world to us. It's clear that every member of the team genuinely cares, and that makes all the difference. We're so grateful to have found such a wonderful place for my mum. Thank you to everyone at Queens Court - your dedication and compassion truly stand out."

"I booked a 2 week stay following an accident. My experience here was excellent. In particular I found the staff caring, helpful and professional. I can't believe how positive they are doing the very difficult job they have. For me the food was sometimes a little too salty as I use little salt at home. The lounges in the care home are very comfortable and stylish. I would have liked an ensuite shower but I understand not a lot of the residents here are unable to use them so it would not be feasible to provide them. Overall an excellent experience."

"You kindly organised a birthday party for 16 adults and 6 children only two days after mum (now 92) moved in. Everyone kept checking on us. The food was amazing. Fresh quiches, beautiful sandwiches, chips (the children loved the chips) fresh, and finally, finally but not least the most beautiful and delicious cake. You even had balloons. Thank you everyone! You truly made it special for all of us."

"My father has had respite care at Queens Court twice and both times the standard of care has been outstanding. The facilities are fantastic. The bedrooms are safe, comfortable, homely and always clean. The food, restaurant, lounges and even the corridors have been thoughtfully and beautifully designed - to encourage engagement, safety and mobility. There are daily activities, which my father participated in - much to my surprise! But the most wonderful thing about Queens Court are the staff. They are so caring, and kind, and patient, and smiley! It made my father (and me) feel warm, welcome and in very safe hands. I was very anxious about how my father would respond to respite care, but he settled in very quickly and enjoyed this time at Queens Court. It has a been positive for all the family, and has substantially reduced everyone's stress. Thank you."

"I phoned Queens Court on short notice. I needed to get my sister in a quality care facility since her health was declining and I live in a different country. The manager took me on a tour. I was impressed with the cleanliness and cheeriness of the facility. They have a lovely dining area and a full menu to chose from. I liked that they have an activity coordinator and activity plans are created for even those that are bedridden. The next day the manager evaluated my sister at the hospital. Two days later my sister spent her first night at Queens Court. I was concerned what my sister would say after her first night. Well she told me "I love this place". I was so happy. Now she refers to the facility as the hotel she is staying in. Thank you the manager and the entire staff for making this a positive experience."

"We were very impressed by our first visit to Barchester Queens Court Care Home. We were warmly welcomed, given a tour and shown to our friend's room. It was lovely to see our friend happy, comfortable and smiling. She had had some physio and was looking forward to a Namaste relaxing therapy session. We were then sent off with some homemade cookies and encouraged to make a return visit soon."

"It is a huge decision to move your parent/loved one into a care home and we were faced with the dilemma in February. When we visited Queens Court we immediately liked it. Dad has been a resident at the home for 3 weeks now. I have been very impressed by all the staff. They are always warm, friendly and helpful. Dad is enjoying the food, is well cared for and even going out on a few trips. I can return to New Zealand knowing my dad is in safe hands. Thank you."

"The Ritz Carlton of Care Centres! My mom has been staying there since February 2023. As difficult of a decision it was to admit my loving mom to a care centre. I am so pleased with the outcome. The staff are the most loving, they are extremely friendly and genuinely loving. My mom is very happy there and looks fantastic. Couldn’t ask for a better place for her."

"Mum has been in Queens Court Barchester since November 2022. She now refers to this as her home it’s all due to the excellent care and wonderful comfortable environment. Its good to see Mum enjoying the numerous activities and she loves being pampered getting her nails manicured and taking out for coffee. It makes it easier for for us to to visit and enjoy quality time with her. I can’t thank and praise the wonderful team enough for the consistent and loving care they provide."

"I have been visiting a close friend for nearly three years now. Sadly, she has recently passed away and if it had to be, I couldn't have wished for a better place in which she should spend her final days. Throughout her time there, she was treated with respect, care and love and helped to cope with her gradual decline into the nightmare of dementia. Friends and family were treated, always, with warmth and security and made to feel a part of the wonderful world of Queen's Court."

"My father has had exceptionally high care for four and a half years at Barchester Queens Court Care Home before, during and now coming through the Covid pandemic. The manager and staff are excellent and did an amazing job to protect the residents early in the pandemic, creating the visiting suite and new ways of communicating that worked for him then. As he has gradually deteriorated the problems that plague the home with the lift never being replaced but continually breaking down & repaired (with parts taking longer thanks to Brexit regulations) factored into occasional failed visits. Now we can visit him in the bedroom it's almost back to the old 'normal' with splendid kindness, tea/ coffee & home made cakes & biscuits. With the relaxing of restrictions it was inevitable that asymptomatic covid has been found and this is no reflection on the standards staff keep."

"I have been trying to think of some aspect of this care home to rate at (4) to make this review more plausible - but we have been so pleased with the care here that I have to rate it all generally at (5) stars! Moving someone 96-years-old into a new home is likely to be difficult, but moving my mother has been an uplifting experience so far, with a very noticeable improvement in her appearance, lucidity and general well-being. The welcome from everyone in the home has been most encouraging - and the overall decidedly positive."

"My dearest friend spent the last few years of his life at Queens Court, and neither he nor I could have wished for a better place. All members of staff were dedicated and compassionate, going over and above to make his stay the best positive experience. Trips and activities are endless and were always very much enjoyed. Visitors are always made welcome. Having lunched there, I can testify the food is exceptional. Communication between myself and Queens Court was ongoing, and I was always kept informed and updated. The website doesn't do it justice; it's the perfect place to be."
