"I visited Queens Court Care Home for the first time in February 2024. I visited with another friend. We were greeted warmly on arrival and my earlier telephone conversations were remembered. We found out mutual friend, who is a resident, very well cared for. Her room was clean and bright - as is the whole of the home."

"I visited my friend today and took her out for coffee. Before visiting I contacted the home to explain I was recovering from a hand operation and would be grateful for help with my friend's wheelchair in getting to and from the cafe. From the moment I arrived at Queens Court, the staff arranged everything beautifully and my friend and I spent a very happy morning together."

"On my frequent visits over the past eighteen months, I always see how well the staff care for my brother-in-law. He has a very complex set of mental and physical needs and Barchester Queens Court Care Home has responded well to support him with these. He is happy and content in the home, he gets on well with all the staff and enjoys all the activities. They are extremely responsive to his medical needs, resulting in avoiding any serious complications. I am extremely grateful to the whole team at Queens Court for their exemplary care. It is clear to me that this a well-run and caring home. I would recommend."

"I know from my brother, who resides in Barchester Queens Court Care Home, that "it feels like home" and he says he is happy here. All the staff treat him with respect and dignity despite his advanced Parkinson's. To show respect and dignity with kindness is how I best describe the care professional staff at Queens Court Care Home."

"My mother was extremely weak and her confidence was very low post a difficult series of chemotherapy treatments. She spent 4 weeks with the team at Queens Court and her condition and confidence were transformed enough for her to confidently return to her own house. All aspects of care, food, attention, support and nutrition were exceptional and I would happily recommend to any other people in the same situation."

"I had the pleasure of visiting this home recently. I was very impressed from the time I stepped into the waiting area - the lounge chairs looked smart and very comfortable. The residents were all well-dressed and cheerful. The staff were smiling and very friendly. The hallway was airy and well lit with nooks furnished with some comfy chairs for catching up or reading. Congratulations to the staff of this well-maintained facility for providing our seniors with the best care and respect that they truly deserve. Keep up the good job."

"The Ritz Carlton of Care Centres! My mom has been staying there since February 2023. As difficult of a decision it was to admit my loving mom to a care centre. I am so pleased with the outcome. The staff are the most loving, they are extremely friendly and genuinely loving. My mom is very happy there and looks fantastic. Couldn’t ask for a better place for her."

"We were very impressed by our first visit to Barchester Queens Court Care Home. We were warmly welcomed, given a tour and shown to our friend's room. It was lovely to see our friend happy, comfortable and smiling. She had had some physio and was looking forward to a Namaste relaxing therapy session. We were then sent off with some homemade cookies and encouraged to make a return visit soon."

"I visited this lovely care home a few days ago to see a friend of my mother! I was so impressed with the level of care she is given and how happy she seemed. The staff all seemed so friendly and they seemed to be interacting with everyone so patiently. I have been to other homes but this one certainly stood out Residents looked happy relaxed and well taken care of. The home smelt amazing and I did not feel sad when I left I realized the residents are all well taken care of!"

"Mum has been in Queens Court Barchester since November 2022. She now refers to this as her home it’s all due to the excellent care and wonderful comfortable environment. Its good to see Mum enjoying the numerous activities and she loves being pampered getting her nails manicured and taking out for coffee. It makes it easier for for us to to visit and enjoy quality time with her. I can’t thank and praise the wonderful team enough for the consistent and loving care they provide."

"I have been visiting a close friend for nearly three years now. Sadly, she has recently passed away and if it had to be, I couldn't have wished for a better place in which she should spend her final days. Throughout her time there, she was treated with respect, care and love and helped to cope with her gradual decline into the nightmare of dementia. Friends and family were treated, always, with warmth and security and made to feel a part of the wonderful world of Queen's Court."

"I just wanted to thank you for the amazing experience from start to finish, when getting my 91-year-old father into this beautifully managed and well-resourced care home. I cannot even begin to express my gratitude for leaving the UK to go back to my now home, in Australia, feeling reassured and confident that he will be well cared for and treated with respect dignity and attention. Over the past few days, I have witnessed an array of caring staff, who have made such a huge difference in attending to him with a genuine smile and an efficient confident manner. He had been feeling worthless, useless, frustrated and a burden and it is so lovely to see all your staff responding to him in a “nothing is too much trouble” manner. I am so grateful and extremely impressed by the way this Care Home is managed, and the level of care that is offered. It has surpassed my expectations. Many thanks."

"My mother who is 99, has led a fully independent life, cooking each day and brilliantly caring for herself. Sadly, having a fall has completely changed her whole situation. "Since my brother has become a resident at Queens Court Care Home, his quality of care has improved immeasurably. He is now happy and contended and feels so much at home. This is due totally to the level and quality of care that he receives, the range of activities available and the quality of the facilities. By extension, this has meant so much to his family knowing that he is really being cared for by a totally dedicated and professional team of carers."

"I continue to be so impressed by the staff, services and care provided at Queens Court. This is evidenced by how well my dear godmother looks and interacts and how clearly cherished she is by the staff and by how much she appreciates the care she receives. Her room is a delightful continuation and reminder of her home, which I think also contributes to how well she continues to be doing, despite her health considerations. We are all tremendously glad and relieved to know she is safe and so very well cared for. With great thanks."

"I came to Queens Court Care Home post-operatively, in great pain and with limited mobility. The staff were patient, caring and attentive as I could not get in or out of bed unaided, which meant they had to attend several times through the night. Most of all I noticed how they dealt with the old and most infirm with cheerfulness and what seemed to me, genuine love and compassion. I concluded that many care workers must have a genuine calling to this type of work. A good range of activities was provided and staff made great efforts to encourage all to attend. Food was excellent and beautifully served both in the dining room and individual rooms. I would have no hesitation in recommending Queens Court Care Home as a place for much-loved elderly relatives."

"My dearest friend spent the last few years of his life at Queens Court, and neither he nor I could have wished for a better place. All members of staff were dedicated and compassionate, going over and above to make his stay the best positive experience. Trips and activities are endless and were always very much enjoyed. Visitors are always made welcome. Having lunched there, I can testify the food is exceptional. Communication between myself and Queens Court was ongoing, and I was always kept informed and updated. "I have been trying to think of some aspect of this care home to rate at (4) to make this review more plausible - but we have been so pleased with the care here that I have to rate it all generally at (5) stars! Moving someone 96-years-old into a new home is likely to be difficult, but moving my mother has been an uplifting experience so far, with a very noticeable improvement in her appearance, lucidity and general well-being. The welcome from everyone in the home has been most encouraging - and the overall decidedly positive."

"My father has had exceptionally high care for four and a half years at Barchester Queens Court Care Home before, during and now coming through the Covid pandemic. The manager and staff are excellent and did an amazing job to protect the residents early in the pandemic, creating the visiting suite and new ways of communicating that worked for him then. As he has gradually deteriorated the problems that plague the home with the lift never being replaced but continually breaking down & repaired (with parts taking longer thanks to Brexit regulations) factored into occasional failed visits. Now we can visit him in the bedroom it's almost back to the old 'normal' with splendid kindness, tea/ coffee & home made cakes & biscuits. With the relaxing of restrictions it was inevitable that asymptomatic covid has been found and this is no reflection on the standards staff keep."

"I was impressed by the efficiency, speed and empathy that the administrator displayed, we were trying to find a palliative care bed and speed was of the essence and the world of care homes was new to me, more than that this individual explained the system clearly. The Deputy Manager also displayed huge empathy and kindness pausing to speak to both the patient and to me at the point at which she was clearly leaving at the end of their shift. This is what you want from care, people that know, that understand all individuals in the situation and people that care, surroundings and equipment all a plus too."

"Just to take one example my cousin is a long term resident, her husband (still at the home) had several spells as a hospital patient discharged to their home was not appropriate on the last occasion. "The staff are informative and helpful and there is a very professional connection between the carers, my husband receiving the care, family and friends. Every effort is made to make the experience positive and pleasant. The residents' food is first class indicated via a written menu with choices and the cup of tea and cake offered to visitors are much appreciated. When my daughter came from New Zealand we were given a 3-course meal for the three of us and were treated like royalty with full waitress service! It was a memorable experience! The trips and indoor activities are invaluable to maintaining normality and interest. Any concerns are noted and acted upon and any outside communication via the telephone is very straightforward."

When our resident entered the care home she was quite frail, her dementia was getting worse and was not eating very well. "The standard of care is thorough, competent and caring. The staff get to know the residents and their specific needs. Communication is generally good but there are times when actions are not carried out or are misunderstood. I have not always been informed of medical problems or external visits by medical practitioners. Since Covid began we have regularly been kept waiting outside the care home even though we had a timed appointment. We appreciate that we are offered tea and coffee but sometimes the request gets lost."

"The staff teamwork and support with my husband's hospital visits and communication about health needs has been wonderful, as has the way communication about his needs is appropriately shared. My husband's complex needs are challenging, but the great reassurance is that any particular difficulty can be raised and discussed with confidence. It is a joy to see the way in which senior staff happily support any staff under stress, and join in basic activities, encouraging the real team spirit. The hospitality team are always responsive and smiling and bring my husband a real sense of being cared about. Maintenance staff do an excellent job and share in support. The welcome for visitors remains exceptional. The bigger room for my husband has made a difference to all, residents, family and staff alike. I was so grateful that while I was away for a few days staff faithfully delivered the cards left for him to have one each day."

"I feel they are coping well in difficult times. There have been real problems with their lift which has been out of order for some time. They may have had like other care homes a problem with staff shortages and new staff have tried to learn how the place operates. Obviously, I don't know what goes on behind the scenes but I have learnt to be patient as obviously I want my partner to be looked after properly in chaotic times for the NHS and government interference."

"On entering Barchester Queens Court Care Home the resident has a new lease of life. Her dignity was restored to her. Her whole manner expressed contentment. The staff showed a professional interest in her well being and the staff were always welcoming of me when I came to visit. A treasured memory is the occasion when I saw her in the garden on a warm summer day smiling contentedly."

"Our family were overall very impressed; staff were always wonderful, friendly as well as competent, and we were particularly struck by the resourceful management through the covid lockdowns. Care was mostly excellent but could fail in moments of crisis. A bad case of cellulitis was misdiagnosed both in-house and by the local GP. Both the GPs we encountered has poor bedside manner and left our mother unhappy with their competence. While our mother could be combative with the senior staff, this was sometimes very poorly handled in-house; a bizarre threat of expulsion left our mother feeling scared and vulnerable. It was not always easy to discuss such matters with management. Letters, emails and iPhone calls were not invariably responded to. We were pleased that new activities (such as classical music concerts and visits to local schools) were uncomplicatedly added to the schedule. The food was remarkably good - we, and even our mother were very impressed by the photo with a celebrity chef. The staff went out of their way to be friendly, interested and affectionate, going above and beyond. We owe them a great deal."

"I have found the care home to be very friendly and to listen to all the concerns I have for my partner as I had been giving her care 24/7 over four and a half years I looked after her prior to her admittance. I have been particularly worried when she falls backwards and to ensure that when she does there is someone to get her back on her feet quickly. We worked a system out well together, but from the information, I have received this has been continued in the home. She responds well to an interest placed in her and plenty of laughter is essential."

The home and grounds are beautifully decorated for the festive season - much appreciated by everyone. "My mother had advanced Dementia and spent her last 18 months of life at Queens Court and throughout her time there she was treated beautifully with respect, dignity, and with wonderful care by the friendly staff who have been there for a long time. There is no fast turnover and the management is topnotch, keeping on top of everything and always there to answer questions and to have a chat and see if everything was running smoothly. The home has a really happy atmosphere. Local primary children come and interact with the inhabitants and there are weekly music singsongs which my mother loved. Lots of outings happened and I also took my mother in her wheelchair to Wimbledon cafes and a small park. I was able to invite my mother's friends to lunch with her and it was very popular for the chance to see her and also the restaurant quality of the food! My mother was able to die quietly and peacefully in her bed in her room with her family around her. I highly recommend the home."

The manager and her team were excellent in helping me to get very comfortable with the processes for Covid assuring me that the home was taking every responsibility for everyone's safety. Much is down to the care home manager who is an outstanding leader. Like any organisation with an effective manager, the care home thrives and operates like a well-oiled machine. "The decision to put my aunt in a home about 20 months ago was a very difficult one but Queen’s Court has been a godsend. During that time, my mum was hospitalised and unable to visit, organise my aunt's finances etc. The manager was so empathetic and concerned about my mum and not increasing our stress, everything could wait until she was well. Staff are genuinely interested in my aunt’s wellbeing (from medications and care to tracking down her signature beret). They recognise too, the impact on the wider family. During Covid, we’ve had regular updates, Skype calls and the staff call with personal updates as needed. My aunt recently took a turn for the worse and the staff have been great at keeping us informed, organising additional Skype calls and a fully PPE’d visit for my mum. Where she’s needed new slippers or jumpers, one of the nurses has organised and shopped for them personally. We really can’t thank Queen’s Court enough for their kind, gentle, respectful and expert care."

"On Sunday last I went to visit a very special lady at the Queens Court Nursing Home. I was greeted immediately at the front door with simple pleasantries. After a slight confusion (my friend is registered using her married name, not the name I knew her by) with regard to my friend's surname, I was led to the side entrance. I signed a form and was instructed to wash my hands. I was impressed by the due diligence. I was then taken to the serene and well-kept garden. It appeared very welcoming, with others socially distanced, yet enjoying the company of apparent loved ones. My friend arrived shortly after I was seated. Her smiles immediately told me she was in good hands. Tea and cake arrived shortly into my visit. Conversation flowed with ease despite her faltering memory. The visit ended far too abruptly (30 minutes). Without a doubt, I will gladly recommend this very professional operation. Looking forward to returning."

"I can compare care provided by Queens Court to my mum and that provided to my aunt, in another care home. I feel Queens Court care well for my mum who suffers from Parkinson’s. They communicate promptly and clearly and are responsive to my concerns. I genuinely feel she is in the best place with respect to her needs. The contrast is huge to my aunt’s care home who refused to return calls or give any information whatsoever to her family, including to her next of kin. When she died, they did not phone my aunt’s next of kin and her passing was communicated by the police. They did not return calls until 5 days after her death. "My mother lived at Queens Court from June 2019 - March 2020, where she died aged 88. She suffered from dementia and was effectively paralysed from the waist down. She was not always the easiest of people to deal with because of her losses of mental lucidity. Despite all this, the staff at Queens Court could not have been more caring, understanding and patient with her, to which she did respond I was pleased to hear on many occasions. The atmosphere at Queens Court was always welcoming and friendly, her room spotless and airy, and the staff full of smiles and cheery conversation, as well as being factual and helpful if asked pertinent questions on my mother's condition. Guests were always given refreshment and nothing seemed too much trouble. I saw other care homes, and there was no question that Queens Court was head and shoulders way above many others. "Excellent care over last six months. Visited last week and saw Magic Table in action with staff interacting very constructively with residents. A good informal atmosphere but staff always focused on patient's needs. I did have concerns re financial administration over the failure to collect FNC payments and deduct them from fees (which were no fault of the general manager) which were investigated and the problem resolved but I was never provided by head office with any feedback as I should have been. I think Barchester should consider introducing some sort of advisory service or at least links to where advice can be obtained. As a court of protection deputy and lawyer, but relative (so unpaid) I find many of the tasks extremely time-consuming, if not confusing - i.e. how to apply for FNC payments/ how to complete forms for OPG, etc."

"While looking for a care home for an elderly friend who was no longer able to look after himself, Queens Court was recommended. As I live too far away to visit, with fingers crossed I had to trust in the recommendation. Four weeks later when I did visit, I was truly amazed at the quality of care, the standard of living conditions and cleanliness. The decor is also beautiful. Room doors are left open so residents can be seen. There are numerous staff who are around at all times, nurses, carers and cleaners who are all caring, friendly and welcoming. Staying for lunch on two occasions, the dining room and kitchen staff also have the same standards and the food is top class. The difference this home has made to my friend is unbelievable, he has gone from being very down and unable to walk, to slowly getting back on his feet and the outings they go on has definitely put a smile back on his face. Knowing he is safe and well cared for is a huge relief. Thank you Queens Court from both of us."

"Living 3,000 miles away from my sister, her only family member still living, it is difficult to express how hard it is only seeing her once or twice a year. Ever since we chose to place her in Queens Court care, I have not had one day of worry about her well-being, comfort or understanding given her difficult-to-diagnose dementia. We Skype every other week thanks to a cheerful carer put in charge of the tablet and although my sister can no longer speak, just seeing her looking groomed and relaxed, a gleam of recognition in her eye when she sees my face, means everything to me. I love that unlike the first assisted care home she went to, I see the same staff every time I visit, which would mean those carers like working at Queens Court. Despite those 3,000 miles, I am not a stranger to them, which is incredibly reassuring. In my opinion, the home deserves every award it garners!"

"The staff at Queens Court Care Home made my mother's transition from home to care home effortless and seamless. They treated her with dignity and respect and afforded her space to settle. There was little fuss but genuine warmth. Always smiles welcomed me, the anxious daughter on every visit and both my mother and I have experienced nothing but efficient kindliness."

"My friend is a proud, independent individual who has found it very difficult to accept his increasing reliance on others. The staff have recognised this and have consistently treated him with understanding and dignity. He is also difficult to look after medically and the staff have been very good at giving medication and allowing for his disabilities."

"My uncle came to stay at Queens Court at very short notice for a period of respite care. Unfortunately, his health deteriorated and he has remained there for considerably longer than anticipated. I cannot praise the staff and home highly enough. The manager is the epitome of professionalism and the charge nurse is excellent in his approach with a very ill and irascible resident. "Excellent atmosphere; the home is clean but not over-formal; staff are forthcoming and caring, involved with residents. The resident obviously has an excellent relationship with care staff and especially the nurse. Although she presents some challenging behaviour, this is well managed. The home keeps closely in touch with me. A very thorough care plan is in place and regularly reviewed."

"Mother is staying here in respite care after breaking her lower femur. I have been hugely impressed by the caring concern shown by the staff, almost all of whom seem to be really committed to the cause and genuinely concerned about the patients' welfare. There is a good vibe, good spirit within the home. Maybe the staffing in late evening could be increased - those on duty are heroic. Care is the primary objective."

"My mother has been at Queens Court for almost 18 months, and in that time her health has improved considerably, which must be largely attributable to the excellent care on offer. Almost without exception, the staff are friendly, patient and caring, and seem genuinely to enjoy their work. As a result, residents, for the most part, seem happy too. There's plenty going on during the day, and excellent food. My only criticism would be that some rooms are quite small, but there's not a lot the management can do about that."

"The Care Home provides residents with a warm and secure environment in a very dedicated manner. It is well run and individual needs of each resident are attended to with loving care. Meetings are held every three months with the residents, family and friends and relevant staff to discuss any issues in order to improve life in the home. Areas of improvement might include better communication between staff, residents and relatives with regard to management of hospital visits and visits by healthcare professionals, what the responsible person should expect of the care home and what the care home should expect of the responsible person. This might take the form of a leaflet."

"As relatives of a former resident, who sadly passed away in February 2017, we were invited back to a memorial service in his memory, along with other residents' family members. "My husband benefitted greatly from Queens Court, after having had 12 weeks in hospital. He improved greatly after 2 days, walked unaided within the zimmer frame. The happy atmosphere created by the carers made such a difference and every helper showed care and empathy for each patient. For every resident to go down to the dining room for lunch and supper makes them feel part of the group and gives a feeling of belonging. "My husband was transferred to Queens Court on 31st October 2016 having been in a home in Beckenham. I had heard of The Barchester Healthcare Group from my sister who's husband had been in a different branch. I am an ex-ward sister and I can not fault this home. "My mother spent a month at the above care home. It was an emergency. Manager came to view my mother at the time living on her own (with a care plan through an agency), my mother was confused incontinent or able to take care of herself and a danger (throwing water over the toaster where the toast caught fire). Nothing but kindness and care throughout her stay at Queens Court wonderful. Mum at 95 this month health improved, gained weight, coherent in speech. Absolutely faultless."

"Warmly welcomed for my regular monthly visit, I arrived to find Mum being helped with her lunch, as expected. I waited for her in the garden, to which she was brought out when she had finished eating. The food was, as ever, of a very high standard. The garden was ideal for enjoying on a sunny, summer's day: raised beds at eye level, evidently well cared for, and surrounding trees that Mum commented favourably on, several times during the couple of hours that we sat there. A lot of care has clearly been put into the design and maintenance of the garden. Staff were attentive to us both, without being intrusive, throughout my stay (7 hours in all). Mum is steadily becoming more frail and the team have helpfully adapted her routine, to include earlier meals and a regular rest after lunch, which Mum clearly benefits from. During her rest, I was able to have a relaxed, open, informative and helpful discussion about Mum's current and future health and welfare with the manager."

The staff were kind and patient when they took time to get to know my husband's ways. Of course, there are always a few things that don't quite work as well as at home, but from the first visit, everything went smoothly. "My dad came to Queen's Court in April after about 3 months in a residential care home, it was clear he needed nursing care, which Queen's Court provides. I am writing this in late August. It has taken my father a long time to settle in, but the care is good. He has a self-contained room. As I write this, he is doubly-incontinent, and cannot walk without falling over. He has been very enthusiastic about the food from the start - which is elegantly served twice a day in the restaurant. It has taken my father a long time to be able to join in group activities, but he seems increasingly able to do so with encouragement. The staff are kind and thoughtful, even on his not-so-well-behaved days. There is a regular programme of activities, and my father is encouraged to join in. Falls continue to occur, if he attempts to walk. He was successfully assessed for continuing care. I visit my father twice a week."

"My dear friend became one of your residents in 2013 after ill health and dementia. I had been her hairdresser for many years. After my salon closed, I went to my friends home to carry on caring for her hair and nails. Barchester Queens Court Care Home kindly agreed I could continue and myself and my friends family wanted this as most of my friends family live overseas. Although my friend's dementia is getting worse, she is so well looked after and the staff care for her and all the residents as well, by always doing a lot of different activities and encouraged everyone who wants to join in.
