Activities at The Manor Care Home
Our activities staff are here 7 days a week and are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we care for in a group or individual basis. From trips to garden centres, the theatre, and flower shows to personal shopping and attending family events. We also love organising Christmas fairs, our famous classic car show, musicians, entertainment, and pizza and pint evenings. The team encourage families to visit and work closely with our volunteers to ensure that our residents social care is a priority, so that they have a fun filled and enriched stay whilst here at The Manor.
Marc Chidgey
I have worked at The Manor since 2012, starting out as a kitchen assistant, where I replenished drinks and snacks and assisted in serving meals in communal areas. During this time, outside of the kitchen, I enjoyed meeting residents and took pleasure in seeing their engagement during activities. My interest in resident activities was evident, and I was offered the opportunity to transfer to the activities team.
I love to spend time with residents. I enjoy hearing their stories and finding out what activities interest them. I aim to keep them as active as possible, and my top priority is to instill fun and laughter at The Manor.

Life at The Manor Care Home
A well deserved review
Physio Can Be Fun!
At The Manor we have our own Physio based here 5 days a week: Ramis.
Ramis makes a huge difference to lives, his work includes rehabilitation and maintaining mobility.
He can also turn his hand to the traditional game of Quoits! As well as being fun, Quoits encourages movement, mentally stimulates and is great for exercise, not forgetting the healthy competition it creates!
As you can see in this photo, John and Edna were willing participants, encouraging each other to do well.
Hot Chocolate Delights
It's a Hot Chocolate kind of day here at The Manor today.
The wind is beginning to disappear, so we were able to wrap up and enjoy our gardens. And what better way to do that than with a hot chocolate with all the trimmings?
Fluffy tailed visitors!
We had an extra fluffy tailed visitor here at The Manor today!
A confident little chap, who is quite the showman!
Pinching nuts and burying them in our Gardens in full view of all our residents and human visitors to see!
The Calm before the Storm
Despite their being a storm due to arrive in the UK shortly, It's a beautiful day here at The Manor.
There's a real country feel at the Manor. We have stunning views and we are nestled in the middle of beautiful scenery.
Valentines Day at The Manor
Happy Valentines from all at The Manor!
As you can see, we rolled our sleeves up and got our hands dirty to make some wonderful Truffles.
We have various activities at the Manor and here we joined a virtual truffle making event.
