Activities at The Manor Care Home
Our activities staff are here 7 days a week and are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we care for in a group or individual basis. From trips to garden centres, the theatre, and flower shows to personal shopping and attending family events. We also love organising Christmas fairs, our famous classic car show, musicians, entertainment, and pizza and pint evenings. The team encourage families to visit and work closely with our volunteers to ensure that our residents social care is a priority, so that they have a fun filled and enriched stay whilst here at The Manor.

I have worked at The Manor since 2012, starting out as a kitchen assistant, where I replenished drinks and snacks and assisted in serving meals in communal areas. During this time, outside of the kitchen, I enjoyed meeting residents and took pleasure in seeing their engagement during activities. My interest in resident activities was evident, and I was offered the opportunity to transfer to the activities team.
I love to spend time with residents. I enjoy hearing their stories and finding out what activities interest them. I aim to keep them as active as possible, and my top priority is to instill fun and laughter at The Manor.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Mother’s Day
We all had a lovely mother's day here at the Manor. All our mothers were well and truly spoilt and what better way to brighten there days than with some lovely Daffodils.
Easter Baking
Morning well spent making some delicious Easter treats to get us kick-started for our Easter weekend. Happy Easter everyone.
Afternoon Bowling
We had a lovely afternoon out at Hollywood Bowl Taunton. Very competitive match and the perfect way to keep sheltered from the wind and rain.
Christmas Cake Competition!
Our wonderful Christmas cake for the competition this year! We didn't win however we are still very proud of this great creation.
Elf Day 2022
We had a wonderful day supporting Elf Day this year and raising money on behalf of the Alzheimers Society. Thank you to all who donated.
Christmas Fayre!
Our annual Christmas Fayre was a huge success. We were pleased to welcome The Mayor of Taunton who came to show her support. A great day all round!
