Our Activities Coordinators work as a team by involving staff and relatives in the activities sessions. They implement and plan activities tailored to residents' likes, dislikes, beliefs and life stories. Lots of people choose to place loved ones in Magnolia Court because of our reputation for hosting great activities all year long!

I joined Barchester in December 2019 as an Activities assistant and in February 2022 I became the Activities Lead at Magnolia Court Care Home. I am passionate about my role at Magnolia Court, I am a people person and nothing makes me happier than putting a smile on our Residents faces. It is a joy to work with such a great team, I am very happy to be a part of team Magnolia and look forward to meeting you soon!

An afternoon of live music at All Saints.

Residents and team members at Magnolia Court Care Home enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of live music at All Saints Church in Childs Hill. 

Creating Music - an illustrated presentation by composer and pianist Penelope Thwaites exploring tracks from her recent album "From Five Continents".

Residents were delighted to have an opportunity to meet and char with Penelope after.

 

Pancake Day at Magnolia Court!

Pancake Day at Magnolia Court!

The staff and residents at Magnolia Court have been flipping and turning pancakes for Shrove Tuesday Pancake Day celebrations.

Magnolia Court has marked this year’s Pancake Day with a pancake making master class and of course, lots of pancakes to eat! Crischan chef at the home, flipped more than 100 pancakes, serving them up with sweet and savoury fillings for all the eager staff and residents.

 

The London Children’s Ballet Magnolia Court!

Residents and staff at Magnolia Court care home in Golders Green experienced an afternoon of joy when The London Children’s Ballet came to visit.

London Children’s Ballet was founded in 1994 to give talented young dancers a unique opportunity to perform as part of a professional ballet production. In 2003 the LCB2 Touring Company was formed in order to bring the performances to those who may be unable to attend a theatre performance.

Residents at Magnolia Court were blown away by The L C B performance of The Little Princess, as they were danced through the emotive story of Sara and clapped at Sara’s good fortune at the end of the story. Tammie and Henna from the Life Enrichment team along with hospitality team provided a spread of sweet and savoury treats for everyone to enjoy after the show.

General Manager, Octavian Stanciu said, “Our residents had a wonderful day they were mesmerised by the wonderful performers. We do our best to provide a wide range of activities and entertainment at Magnolia Court as part of the life enrichment programme for residents, and are always keen to bring live performances to our lovely home!”

Ann White, residents at Magnolia Court said “The Children were so professional and delightful. I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to see them again!”

Master class in all things Coffee!

Today residents at Magnolia Court joined the team at Nescafé for an afternoon of all things coffee. We found out about the history of Nescafé and how they became a global brand. We were walked through the coffee making process, from farm to shop and had the chance to taste a variety of blends. Residents had a go at making coffee mocktail and really enjoyed the tasting masterclass.

London Fashion week at Magnolia Court!

In honour of London Fashion Week residents at Magnolia Court tapped into their creativity. They looked at different styles across the decades and experimented with different colour pallets. Bill said "I enjoyed creating a colourful outfits and liked the style of the 80's"

 

Gertie and Gloria - baby goats visit !

Residents and team members at Magnolia Court were so excited when Performing Pets came to visit. They bought along 2 baby Goats Gertie and Gloria and residents were absolutely delighted to see them.
