Activities at Lindum House Care Home

Our fantastic Activities Coordinators make sure that there is a full programme of social events to suit all interests and capabilities. They aim to not only to stimulate, but to ensure that everyone involved has lots of fun. We enjoy trips out visiting local places of interest or just to explore, which inevitably ends up with us having a lovely lunch somewhere.

There are regular concerts that we hold in the home that allows us to have a good old singalong, and our community links include the local churches, knit and natter groups and toddler groups coming in to see residents.

On a daily basis, everyone enjoys a variety of activities, including quizzes, bingo, arts and crafts, reminiscing and movement to music. We also host movie afternoons on the big screen which, of course, involves popcorn and ice cream at the interval!

Any residents who are unable to join us in the communal areas for activities have one-to-one time in their rooms, with us either reading to them, chatting or anything else they wish to do that’s within their capabilities.

Kelly Rolph

Activities Co-ordinator

Hi there, I'm Kelly. My role at Lindum House ensures all of our residents always have lots of fun activities to look forward too.

I grew up down south, my parents worked in news trade & I've lived in many places! I've lived in hull for 20 years now, worked in health and social care for around 15 years, I started on care, worked through domestic, kitchen assistant and found my calling with activities!

I'm a super social person, enjoy being busy and sing in my spare time. I am part of a small singing charity group 'guise & gals'. I've been singing karaoke since I was 18 but never had the confidence to take it any further. I do, however, love putting on a show for our residents!

I'm a strong believer in 'treat people how you wish to be treated' everyone is different and it's important to focus on each individuals wants and needs, to encourage and nurture life, you only live once!

I'm full of energy, providing there is music... it's good for my soul!

Our residents smiles are my reward, it makes me so happy to see them enjoying them selves.

Life at Lindum House Care Home

London Ladies

As part of our International Women’s Day celebrations, Residents from across our services were thrilled to join tour guide, Mandy Morrow, for an exciting talk about some Legendary London Ladies.

Mandy shared the fascinating stories of eight ladies with us, from the one of the richest heiresses in the world to the original 'Roaring Girl'.

Everyone who participated truly enjoyed the experience and were delighted to take a walk down memory lane.

Bingo Bonanza

Across the country our homes and hospitals came together to find out which care home or hospital had the best Bingo players as they teamed up for Barchester’s Bingo Bonanza.

Residents were treated to some exciting virtual games of Bingo as part of Barchester’ very own game show series.

Everyone who participated had a fantastic time and enjoyed some friendly competition.

A Joyous Morning

A wonderful morning was had by all when Laura douse and her guitar came to visit for the first time, on Tuesday 20th.

Laura is full of fun with a beautiful voice and lively personality. She really brought her guitar to life playing a mixture of classic singalongs and musical movie hits.

Residents were all singing along and moving to the music, it was so wonderful to see everyone having such a great time.

Music is to the soul what words are to the mind, We all said how uplifted we felt and we are now looking forward to her next visit.

Fuss & Cuddles with Furry Friends

Lindum House’s monthly ‘Furry Friends’ visit is so popular with the residents, their audience is really growing, our residents’ friends & family’s now come to have a cuddle too!

This month they brought some new baby giant bunnies in training, they really were adorable. They also bring a variety of animals such as: Snake, bearded dragon, hedgehog, guinea pigs, tortoise, ponies, to name but a few.

As always, the residents and staff really enjoyed giving out their love and attention to these little creatures, just as much as they appeared to enjoy receiving it.

Pet therapy is just so rewarding to see, the joy and happiness these animals bring is second to none. Our activities team have secured monthly ‘Furry Friends’ animal therapy sessions, by request of our residents at Lindum house, Beverley.

One of our residents said “their always so calm and relaxed, such beautiful animals”.

Golden Oldies with Albies

Residents, relatives and staff at Lindum House care home in Beverley experienced an afternoon of joy when Albies Bar invited them to their ‘Golden Oldies’ community event.

Staff, Family & Residents took a stroll to our local ‘pop up pub’ on Thursday the 1st February, we were welcomed with open arms, as Albies helpful staff helped us to escort the residents in wheelchairs inside.

Residents were blown away by the community spirit shown by Albies Bar staff, as they were entertained by ‘Uncle albert’ 86-year-old gentlemen, with classic pub singalong songs & his harmonica.

Everyone really enjoyed themselves, residents were up dancing and singing and it was so special to see everyone having such a great time, music connected us all and seeing our residents respond so well makes it such a joy to watch.

Albies really made us all feel welcome with free cherry and pub snacks, Albies Bar have committed to making this a monthly event, on the first Thursday of the month, for our residents and we couldn’t be happier. We all said how uplifted we felt and are now looking forward to our next visit.

Trip to Albies Bar

Massive thanks to Albies Bar for a fantastic ‘Golden Oldies’ social afternoon. We all enjoyed a drink, pub snacks and good 'old skool' Singalong & boogie.

Our Residents have enjoyed it so much, there eager for the next visit.
