Laurel Bank Care Home in Lancaster

Laurel Bank is a purpose-built care home offering specialist 24-hour nursing and residential care, providing the best possible alternative for those who are no longer able to manage at home. Our team are passionate about providing high quality care and are ideally suited to meet a wide range of care needs, from simply helping with day-to-day living through to complex care requirements.

Staff work closely with families and key professionals to develop a personalised package of care. Care plans are regularly reviewed to ensure that they adapt with each individuals' changing needs, and work to support and maintain individuality, dignity, privacy and independence. Working within our person-centred philosophy, the care team supports everyone in making their own decisions regarding daily life and social activity.

Our dedication can be seen in all we do, from cooking and hospitality to the wide range of activities organised for residents and visitors. We have our own minibus and regularly take residents to garden centres, coffee houses, museums and the local countryside. Local entertainment and church groups also visit regularly. Residents at Laurel Bank are encouraged to continue with hobbies they enjoy, such as photography, woodwork, art, cooking and gardening, to name a few. Wi-Fi is available as well, so residents can access the internet or check their emails anytime they wish!

The home is ideally located just 10 minutes from the centre of historic Lancaster, and boasts over of the city’s castle, the rolling hills of the Pennines and tranquil Morecambe Bay. We are also 30 minutes from the Lake District and, in the other direction, the seaside town of Blackpool.

We are extremely proud of what we offer and are always happy to welcome visitors or to take calls.

Lyndsay Scott

General Manager

Hi, my name is Lyndsay, and I am the General Manager here at Laurel Bank.

I am an RGN and have worked in the care sector for over 20 years. I moved over to Lancaster in 2019 from the North East to work for Barchester.

I began my career as a care assistant in 1998 and found that I enjoyed the environment so much that I trained to be a nurse, then transferred to management.

As a manager of a care home, every day is different and, at Barchester, we endeavour to enhance the lives of all residents on a daily basis. We incorporate their life history's and interests when planning activities in the home so that they can live life to the fullest.
