Kenwyn Care Home in Truro
Kenwyn is a purpose built care home in Truro with beautiful gardens, set within a quiet area of this bustling market city in Cornwall. We pride ourselves on providing excellent nursing and residential care for elderly people, people living with disabilities and for those living with dementia. Our aim is to ensure that all residents are happy and fulfilled throughout their stay at our nursing home, and that the welfare of each resident is at the forefront of what we do each day.
Dementia Care
The home's specialist Memory Lane Community utilises a careful blend of skills and techniques developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care, incorporating person-centred design in its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home, whilst thoughtful interior design features, such us adapted crockery and tableware assists with reminiscence. Communities are broken up into separate units with a family feel so people can feel safe and comfortable. Care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia are offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.
Our person-centred approach allows individuals to make their own choices and maintain their independence. Residents are invited and encouraged to join in with our daily activities, which include quizzes, gentle exercise, word games, art, visiting entertainers and much more. All of our delicious meals are prepared using fresh produce by our chefs, who ensure that individual nutritional requirements are met at every meal.
So – if you haven’t visited us before, or would like to visit again, please pop in for a cuppa and we will be delighted to show you around.

Our Team

Marie Wilson
Hi, my name is Marie, and I am the General Manager here at Kenwyn. Welcome to our website!
I have been the Deputy Manager here at Kenwyn since 2019, and have been lucky enough to be able to take up the mantle as General Manager.
I studied nursing at Kings College London and qualified as a nurse over 20 years ago. My first roles were in Vascular Surgery in a Hospital in Croydon. This is where my interest grew in the field of tissue viability, and from where my future roles in the field as a Specialist Nurse and Nurse Consultant developed from.
I have studied throughout my career, obtaining several additional qualifications and have managed services and teams across different healthcare settings.
I have moved to Cornwall to be close to my family, but also have family in London who, of course, love to visit this beautiful county.
I feel very fortunate to be able to have the support of a great team here at Kenwyn, who I know, like me, are passionate about providing safe & effective care within a supportive and friendly environment.
