Activities at Harton Grange Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Harton Grange Care Home

Tea & cake with our friends
Today we went to Elm Tree Garden Centre with our friends at Washington Grange Care Home - Barchester Healthcare for some hot drinks and cake. It was a wonderful morning and we had coffee and caramel cake. It was nice to get out and get some fresh air and sweet treats. It was also lovely to chat with the wonderful people for Washington Grange hopefully we will meet again soon.

Some Mother's do Ave Em
Residents across our services had a fantastic time enjoying the virtual screening of Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em. Frank Spencer’s comical misadventures had everyone laughing and it was wonderful to see so many happy faces.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and a special thanks to The Barn Theatre in the Cotswolds for bringing this stage adaptation of the beloved sitcom to our screens.

Beach Memories
We had a fantastic afternoon with our friends from Bright Future Charity with time spent on the beach at South Shields.
It was great fun to play in the sand before enjoying a refreshing ice cream. Residents, Dot and Moira said “this trip has brought back lots of beautiful memories!”.

The 'King' was in the building!
Aloha from Harton! Whilst we did not travel to Hawaii we certainly had an electric atmosphere in our home as we welcomed, Mike Memphis as Elvis - in the community back with a fantastic afternoon show. Despite not being able to hold the show outdoors due to weather conditions, we thoroughly enjoyed singing and dancing with the ‘King’ in our reception area.
Everyone had a brilliant fun filled afternoon.

A breath of fresh air
We love to spend time in our wonderful garden. We often spend time on the patio simply relaxing, enjoying each other’s company chatting and sharing memories, listening to music whilst keeping hydrated with light refreshments and home-made treats.

A trip to Seaham
We decided to take advantage of the good weather to take a trip on the mini bus and enjoy a ride along the coast to Seaham, a place we love to visit to see the famous statue of soldier, Tommy.
Tommy is a statue of a First World War soldier by artist Ray Lonsdale, displayed close to Seaham war memorial, on Terrace Green by the seafront in Seaham and holds many fond memories for our residents and the many times they have visited Seaham.
Resident, Peggy enjoyed observing the motorcycle as her husband used to be a passionate motorcyclist; bringing back an abundance of fond memories!
