Activities at Chacombe Park Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Morgan Dowie
Hi, my name is Morgan and I joined the Chacombe Park life enrichment team in January 2025. I love getting to know our residents, and I'm extremely passionate about their continued wellbeing and enjoy providing tailored activities that stimulate happiness, and continued fulfilment.
Prior to joining Chacombe Park, I worked as a Senior Carer, and hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care. Outside of work, I’m a wife and mother to our beautiful little girl. Originally from Birmingham our little family has now settled in Banbury. Living life to the full is my motto, and I wish to instil this in all our residents, whatever your ability there is something new to learn or try. Life is for enriching and enjoyment.
I look forward to getting to know you and your loved ones. We are always open to new ideas, if you'd like to contact me please call the home on 01295 712001 or email me direct on: Chacombe.Activities@barchester.com - New entertainers always welcome.

Life at Chacombe Park Care Home

Visit to Winchester House School
Well today we visited Winchester House School for the last time before half term.
The residents had an amazing sing along with the children and their fellow members which they very much enjoyed, singing songs such as "Danny boy" and "A spoon full of sugar".
Back at the home they were all treated with some jazz music from the lovely Alan and finished off with tea and coffee.

Lunch at the Local
Some of our lovely residents enjoyed a fantastic pub lunch at The New Inn in Middleton Cheney. It was a lovely atmosphere with the residents chatting among themselves whilst enjoying the delicious food, all washed down with a good old pint of beer.
They throughly enjoyed themselves!

Outing to Birdland
On 11th October, our residents and activity team enjoyed an outing to ‘Birdland Park & Gardens’ situated in Bourton on the Water. Our residents enjoyed the drive down to the park, taking in all the scenery. They got particularly lucky with the weather and enjoyed the autumnal sunshine. The residents had a wonderful time walking around the park and admiring the beautiful birds and parklands. Afterwards everyone enjoyed a sandwich and coffee at the park café.

Pub Lunch
Our residents enjoyed a lovely outing to the local pub in Chacombe for a spot of lunch.
It was a lovely atmosphere, and the residents enjoyed chatting among themselves whilst enjoying some delicious food. It washed down well with a good pint of beer!
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves , and one of our residents, David W even said it was the best burger he’s had for quite some time! We cant wait to go back again.

Grandparents Day
On 6th October our residents celebrated grandparents day, the day was filled with love and it was lovely to see families spending time together, sharing stories, and sharing precious quality time between grandparents and their loved grandchildren.
Our residents spent a day during the week doing something slightly different, to show their love and gratitude to their grandchildren. The activity team helped by printing off lovely photographs, and residents handmade cards and letters, expressing their love and pride towards their grandchildren.
The team helped by sending these out in the post ready for Sunday.
It is always lovely to see family coming together for special occasions, and there is something even more magical watching 2 generations connecting!

Old traditions!
We enjoyed a wonderful summers afternoon watching the very talented Ironman and severn guilders Morris dancers group. Morris dancing is a form of English Folk dance performed at seasonal festivals to ‘Banish the dark of winter, celebrate the warmth and fertility of summer and bring in autumns golden harvest’. Residents enjoy a talk about the traditions of Morris dancing followed by a fantastic afternoon of dance. They where delighted when family and staff where invited to join in. Jackie loved to watch her son take part she said ‘The memories of his two left feet will live with me forever’ residents also enjoyed General Manager Lea-Ann Littler and Activities Coordinator Katie Macey giving it a go they all had a good giggle with their lack of coordination. At the end of the event the ladies enjoyed receiving a flower and feather each out of the performers headwear.
