Activities at Ashford House Care Home

Here at Ashford House we try to aim to cater to everyone’s hobbies and preferences, nothing is impossible! All our activities are designed to empower our residents helping them complete meaningful activities that stimulate them mentally, physically and emotionally. As well as sticking to 'mainstream' activities that you would normally find in this kind of environment, we aim to step outside the box with our provision. We think this is the best way of creating person-centred activities, as each plan is uniquely crafted around each individual, who are treated with respect and dignity in their choices and supported to take control of how they spend their time.

Sheeba Khan

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Sheeba, and I am an Activities Coordinator here at Ashford House.

Having a degree in Fine-Arts and a creative background enables me to plan person-centred activities according to the personalities and tastes of our residents here at Ashford House. I believe and work towards making a positive difference to their day to day life and I can honestly say this is one of the most rewarding jobs. I am really enjoying my role as an Activities Co-Ordinator at Ashford House.

VE Day Celebrations

Residents at Ashford House enjoyed afternoon tea celebrating VE Day with an array of delicious cakes and sandwiches made by our in house chef, Sharon Pearson, and her catering team.

The staff team sang along with the residents to greatest war-time hits, including Dame Vera Lynn’s, 'We’ll Meet Again'.

The Ashford House team took pride in commemorating VE Day during these uncertain and difficult times by lifting everyone's spirits with music, food, dancing and plenty of laughter.

Preparing for Christmas

We have had a lovely time preparing for Christmas. Everyone has helped to get the trees looking wonderful. We are all busy writing our cards and practicing carols.

Elvis Visited Ashford

We had an amazing afternoon on Saturday the 23rd of November when Elvis came to visit. A family kindly arranged for him to perform at Ashford House for a Birthday celebration, everyone was invited and it was a brilliant party!

We had quite a lot of debate about if he was the real deal but at the end of the day everyone has such a wonderful time we were sure the real Elvis had been with us! There was dancing, singing birthday cake and laughter all around.
