Activities at Ashford House Care Home

Here at Ashford House we try to aim to cater to everyone’s hobbies and preferences, nothing is impossible! All our activities are designed to empower our residents helping them complete meaningful activities that stimulate them mentally, physically and emotionally. As well as sticking to 'mainstream' activities that you would normally find in this kind of environment, we aim to step outside the box with our provision. We think this is the best way of creating person-centred activities, as each plan is uniquely crafted around each individual, who are treated with respect and dignity in their choices and supported to take control of how they spend their time.

Sheeba Khan

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Sheeba, and I am an Activities Coordinator here at Ashford House.

Having a degree in Fine-Arts and a creative background enables me to plan person-centred activities according to the personalities and tastes of our residents here at Ashford House. I believe and work towards making a positive difference to their day to day life and I can honestly say this is one of the most rewarding jobs. I am really enjoying my role as an Activities Co-Ordinator at Ashford House.

Celebrating the King's Coronation

We were joined by the lovely deputy mayor Cllr Denise Saliagopoulos who said “A wonderful day made possible by all the hardworking staff - Housekeeping, Maintenance, Activities to name but a few! The food was amazing and those Cakes were a dream. Thank you Chef Mihai and Kirsty the prize Cake Maker! Linda and her Team were outstanding as usual! Daisy, Thank you for having me!”

Despite the rain, we celebrated with a 1940’s style garden party with the beautiful Amanda serenading us.

Everyone had a great time eating drinking and enjoyed live music from the 1940s. Resident's watched the live Coronation on televisions and joined in the garden later to carry on the celebrations.

Happy Easter

We have enjoyed a wonderful Easter here at Ashford House. We have had the lovely children from Town Farm Primary School and Nursery come in and spend the morning with us, they brought beautiful Easter cards and flowers with them and made our residents feel very loved. We also enjoyed an Easter Service from the lovely Melanie from St Mary the Virgin Stanwell and of course some delicious Easter Treats given our buy Daisy and Cristina for everybody to enjoy.

A visit from the local Mayor

Last week at Ashford House we had the pleasure of the lovely Mayor Sue Doran and her consort husband Cllr John Doran, who popped in to collect our prize donation for the Mayors Annual Charity Ball. Over The course of Cllr Doran's Mayoral year, she has been raising money for the Spelthorne Mental Health Association and the Stanwell Family Centre.

Our General Manager, Daisy Mingle, and our Customer Relationship Manager, Debbie Twinn, gave the mayor and her husband a tour of our home where they met some of our residents and learned about our life here at Ashford House.
