Alice Grange Care Home in Ipswich

Alice Grange is a purpose-built residential care home in Ipswich, with good road links to the A12 and A14 trunk roads. This care home is close to the beautiful East Anglian coast line with many Blue Flag beaches. Nearby towns include Felixstowe, Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Martlesham Heath and Colchester.

Alice Grange provides 24-hour nursing care to frail older people, to older people living with dementia, who are supported in a dedicated Memory Lane Community and to younger adults with physical disabilities or otherwise in need of care. Alice Grange bases its care around personalised care plans drawn up with the individual and their families.

Our Memory Lane Community is specifically designed for people living with dementia. Corridors have points of interest offering sensory stimulation and free access to a balcony garden. Alice Grange is one of the first homes to be accredited as part of Barchester’s 10-60-06 Dementia Care Programme, reflecting the enhanced quality of dementia care and improved quality of life experienced by residents here.

The best way to get to know Alice Grange is to visit us, however. We welcome visitors, so please feel free to drop in.

Michelle Medway

General Manager

Welcome to Alice Grange Care Home, my name is Michelle and I am the General Manager here.

I qualified as an Enrolled nurse in 1991, then shortly after joined the  Royal Navy as a Queen Alexandra Royal Naval Nurse.

Shortly after joining I was medically discharged due to an injury, so I moved home and worked for an agency for a while.

I then worked my way up the ranks within the community hospital setting from an Enrolled Nurse to A ward sister during which time I did my conversion course to gain RGN status and my BSc in Nursing Practice.

The majority of my Nursing career has been based in the care home or community setting, and care homes is definitely where my heart lies.

I have been at the Alice Grange for over a year now as the Home Nurse Specialist, and have been recently promoted to General Manager. I really enjoy my job, the home has come a long way in the last year and we will continue to make improvements.

To do this I will work closely with my newly appointed heads of unit and enhance best practice for our residents.
