Golf champion shows support for multiple sclerosis charity
29th July 2010

A female golf champion has expressed her support for the fight against multiple sclerosis.

Becky Brewerton's mother was diagnosed with the condition 26 years ago, and in tribute to her she will be using her website to raise money for the MS Society.

In addition, the golfer will be wearing the charity's logo clearly marked on her golf bag at upcoming tournaments, in order to raise awareness of the disease, starting at the Women's British Open which starts at Royal Birkdale today (July 29th).

"The MS Society does a fantastic job and I'd like to be able to show my appreciation for the work it does for those in a similar position to my mum," she said.

In response, the charity has expressed its delight at Ms Brewerton's commitment to the cause, adding that she is an inspirational figure.

The MS Society estimates that there are around 100,000 people in the UK living with multiple sclerosis.
