Activities at Tyspane Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Christmas Pantomime

The staff at Tyspane recently put on a performance of 'Snow White and the Seven Carers'. The script was adapted by Shelley Kaleda, our Home Trainer, who not only wrote and directed the performance, but also provided the costumes, props and backdrop.

Shelley played the Good Fairy and was lit up like a Christmas tree. David Allen brought the house down with his portrayal of the Wicked Queen. Staff from all departments took part and the residents booed and hissed in all the right places.

Physio at Tyspane

Physiotherapy at Tyspane includes a very popular weekly flex-exercise class, run by our Physiotherapy Assistant and Fitness Instructor, Babs Spear, whose motto is, “use it or lose it!"

Volunteer of the Year

Congratulations to Anais Rose Davie, our young volunteer, who was named as the Volunteer of the Year at the 2018 Barchester Care Awards.

Well done, Anais!

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Macmillan Coffee Morning

We hosted a coffee morning in recognitions of Macmillan Cancer Support's World's Biggest Coffee Morning on 28th September. It was lovely to be a part of such a successful campaign and so rewarding to be able to help out.

Residents baked cakes for the occasion, which went down a treat and we were also joined by the children from Beach Buddies Nursery, who came with money to buy our goodies.
