Activities at Newton House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Newton House Care Home

Gentleman's Club

A group of Grantham care home residents visited a snooker and pool club.

Residents from Newton House Care Home on Barrowby Road, were treated with a bus trip for our weekly ‘Gentleman’s Club’, visiting the Musson & Gap inn for a nice cold pint and a good old game of dominoes. The gents really enjoyed each others company & finished the game with a draw!

They were given a warm welcome and had “a wonderful time”, enjoying a selection of fine ales, good company and plenty of hearty laughter.

A Visit From The Scouts

We were delighted to warmly welcome the Grantham 7th Cub Scouts at Newton House.

Residents and the children enjoyed playing various games including dominoes, connect 4 and board games.

The room was filled with lots of hearty laughter & conversation which put many smiles on everyone’s faces, and we are looking forward to welcoming the Grantham Cub Scouts into our home again soon.

Barchester Supporting Grantham Care Fair

The Maple Leaf Lodge and Newton House Care Homes, came together and joined the local healthcare community at the inaugural Grantham Care Fair, held at the Grantham Guildhall Arts Centre.

The event brought together local businesses and health care professionals including hosts Farrow and Friends, NHS Lincolnshire, The Lincolnshire Nutritionist, Lincs Wellbeing, Age UK, Belvoir Home Care, Right at Home, Kings Court Care Home and Grantham College amongst others to highlight and promote the importance of health and well-being in the community and to highlight support for those in need.

One participant said “it is wonderful to see the variety of different organisations come together in unison, showing their support not only for one another but for those who are the most vulnerable in our communities, it’s heart-warming to know there is so much support in Grantham and the county at large.”

Home becomes collection point for local foodbank

Barchester Healthcare are proud to announce that our Maple Leaf Lodge and Newton House Care Homes in Grantham are to become collection points for the Grantham Foodbank.

Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. A simple box of food makes a big difference, with foodbanks helping prevent crime, housing loss, family breakdown and mental health problems.
