Activities at Newton House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Newton House Care Home

Floral Beauty

A Floral Beauty. Residents from around the home came together in our coffee lounge, for a morning of flower arranging with some beautiful flowers that were kindly donated by a member of the local community.

Not only did they look beautiful but they smelt beautiful too – a perfect sensory sensation!

The arrangements that were made were then placed in residents rooms whom are nursed in bed, they were delighted to receive such a kind and thoughtful gift from their friends within Newton House.

New Years Eve Karaoke

Newton House saw in 2024 in style as our residents, family members and colleague came together to celebrating the incoming New Year with an afternoon of karaoke, music and refreshments!

Residents from across the home came together to enjoy our New Year celebrations, and tucked into some delicious beverages and cakes prepared by our marvellous team in the kitchen.

Happy New Year!

Meet The Reindeers

Across our homes we got into the Christmas spirit of things by joining a festive live virtual experience, led by Des and Kelly from Performing Pets.

Our residents were thrilled to meet the charming furry friends and get up close and personal with the reindeers.  We certainly learnt some interesting facts about the animals and had a fantastic time.

Newton's Happy Hampers

Our brilliant team at Newton House recently orchestrated a heart warming community initiative to spread holiday cheer. around Grantham.

The care home's resident ambassador took the lead in organising the delivery of Christmas hampers to the local emergency services. including the Fire Service, Police force and Ambulance Responders.

Our Residents, staff, and our ambassador collaborated to curate thoughtful hampers filled with festive treats and essentials, expressing gratitude for the tireless efforts of the emergency service personnel.

Our emergency services were deeply touched by the homes outpouring of kindness and the embrace of the Christmas spirit.

Best Dressed Christmas Tree competition

Staff and residents at Barchester’s Maple Leaf and Newton House care home, in Grantham held a competition within the local community to award the “Best Dressed Christmas Tree”, after receiving a huge selection of incredibly dressed tree’s there could be only one winner!

Maple Leaf and Newton House care home’s residents enjoyed going through the selection of beautifully photographed trees and after much talk and deliberation over Hot Chocolate and Mince Pies, our residents chose the highly original and unique effort sent in by the children at the Springwell Academy Alternative School in Grantham.

The children and staff members from Springwell were presented with a bumper bag of Christmas treats.

General Manager’s, Kerry Angeloni and Sonia Fairhurst both agreed: “Christmas is such a magical time and our residents loved looking at all of the wonderful photos sent in from the community. It was lovely and it brought back lots of fond memories for them decorating the Christmas tree with their own family”

A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of the Grantham Dunelm team and the amazing people who have contributed to this wonderful campaign.
