Activities at Mill Court Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Mill Court Care Home

World Book Day

Beautiful moments caught on camera. Whist these moments happen all the time at Mill Court they are not always captured. On book day some local children visited to read stories to our residents. Then they reversed roles and read to them.

Afternoon at the Salon

When our home has its own salon and nail bar, who needs an excuse for a pamper. Some of our ladies had a lovely time being spoilt and preened ready for the weekend ahead.

Double Celebrations for Dawn

What to do when your birthday falls on valentines day. Have two celebrations of course. Dawn had a wonderful afternoon full of pampering, cards and visits. Joined by family, friends and other residents. There was cake, vino and gifts along with a whole lot of love

Jeremy Hunt comes for a Visit

Jeremy Hunt local Conservative MP visited Mill Court. Jeremy joined residents of the home for afternoon tea in their private dining room. He chatted to residents and was given a tour of the home. He even surprised one of the carers Maria and presented her with an award and voucher for Barchester’s celebrating success initiative as the employee of the month. Everyone had such a lovely afternoon and we cant wait to  have him visit us again.

When the babies came to play

Who doesn't love the sound of little-ones having fun. Intergenerational play is so important to both our residents and the children. They form beautiful bonds through not just words but actions, movement and touch alone. It is great to see everyone having a great time we cant wait to welcome them back again.

Knit and Natter

When its rainy outside and you fancy a chat and a cuppa with a friend then what better place. Mill Court's group is expanding. Everyone is currently making blankets for the Cats Protection a charity that is close to residents hearts. But you don't have to be a resident to join in just a friendly ear and a willingness to learn. We love to see new faces.
