Activities at Middletown Grange Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. We aim to provide a variety of activities that will both mentally and physically stimulate the people we support. Residents have a range of different needs and interests, and it is crucial that these are reflected in the activities available, so that each individual is able to participate to the best of their ability. We organise both group and individual social events that everyone is welcome to take part in; there is a weekly outing to local places of interest, including the garden centre and the local farms, parks and museums. In addition, we enjoy regular visits from entertainers and even exotic animals. We also host events such as 'Beach Day' that relatives and friends are encouraged to participate in. Getting involved in charities is a big part of our ethos, so events such as 'PJs for Pudsey' and pirate-themed days are regularly hosted to raise money for different foundations, including the Alzheimer’s Society.

At Middletown Grange Care Home, we never miss a chance to celebrate life’s simple pleasures — and what better excuse than Chocolate Day?
Our residents indulged their senses during a delightful Chocolate Tasting event, sampling a wide variety of rich, creamy, and delicious treats from around the world. From smooth milk chocolates to bold dark varieties and unique flavours like orange, mint, and even chilli — there was something for every palate to enjoy.
The room was filled with laughter, nostalgic stories, and plenty of smiles as residents shared their favourites and learnt fun facts about the origins of chocolate. We even held a light-hearted quiz to test everyone’s chocolate knowledge!

National self-care day!
Pamper Day for National Self-Care Day! At Middletown Grange Care Home, we believe self-care is not just a luxury — it’s an essential part of well-being. That’s why we were thrilled to host a special Pamper Day in celebration of National Self-Care Day, giving our residents a well-deserved dose of relaxation and indulgence.
Our lounge was transformed into a peaceful haven, filled with calming music, the scent of essential oils, and plenty of smiles. Residents were treated to hand massages, nail care, facials, and gentle aromatherapy sessions — all provided by our dedicated care team and visiting therapists.
The atmosphere was calm and joyful as residents chatted over herbal teas and healthy snacks. It was a lovely opportunity to unwind, connect, and celebrate the importance of looking after our minds and bodies. One resident shared, “It felt like a spa day with friends. I felt so relaxed and cared for — it was absolutely wonderful.”
Events like this are part of our ongoing commitment to holistic, person-centred care. Self-care may be celebrated one day a year, but at Middletown Grange, we make it a priority every day.
